Faeries

I think both Karen Moning with her Fever series, and Richelle Mead with her Dark Swan series have a done a really good job showing the meaner, scarier side of faeries. Prior to reading those series, and Bloody Bones by LKH, I always thought of Tinkerbelle when someone mentioned faeries.

Does anyone have any other novel recommendations that show faeries in a different light?

Just thought of another, Kim Harrison's Hollow series, which I think is really good.

The Meredith Gentry series by Laurell K. Hamilton. (At least I really like it!)

I read the first book in that series; it was ok. I can't believe that I totally forgot about that series. That's definitely a different pov of the Faire world isn't it?!

It is different! The first book in that series is far from the best, so I do recommend you sticking with it!! :o)

The first series I read that showed faeries in a different, scarier light was Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr. It was unlike anything I had read before, where faeries were beings of light, not darkness.
