The Missing Ink
My Review: 4 stars, I had high hopes for my first Karen E. Olson mystery and she did not disappoint. The characters were quirky and interesting. The setting was fantastic and I could easily visualize the Las Vegas Olson described. Most importantly, the writing style drew me into the action. I didn't just read and follow along after Brett, whenever some new piece of information popped up my mind raced trying to fit it into the overall story. I didn't always come to the same conclusions as Brett, but for the most part I could understand her logic. Admittedly being a cop's daughter and having a homicide detective brother, Brett's major interference in the investigation might seem a reach. But Olson carefully spells out Brett's reasoning behind her decisions and it fits her character. I'm definitely going to be reading the next book.
