Question about Alexander & Dasha...

It was not clear to me if Alexander was having sex with Dasha when he and Tatiana where hiding their relationship from everyone? Did I miss something?

I think it was meant to draw our own conclusion.. The term realtionship was used loosely.. despite the fact that Alexander and Tatiana so obvioulsy loved eachother, body, heart and soul.. Tatiana refused to betray Dasha.. So the relationship couldn't be, cause Tatiana kept denying it.. I believe that Yes.. Alexander and Dasha did have sex for the first while,, but Alexander got to the point where he could no longer.. So he stopped the physical aspect of there relationship a few months into meeting Tatiana.. This of course, was only my perception.. Everyone views it differently.

I think they were - though they did eventually stop as Dasha told Tania they hadn't slept together for months and she hadn't had her 'monthlies'.
I think when Dasha and Alexander were alone together and Tatiana was up on the roof they did have sex sometimes.

It was implied but was totally confirmed from Alexanders POV in Tatiana and Alexander.
Even though I knew they did to hear it from his POV broke my heart.

In Bridge to the Holy Cross (the old version before parts where cut out), it is confirmed that they did.

There was a scene in the book where Alexander and Dasha are under a bridge. Alexander doesn't want to, but Dasha pushes him to do it.... so he does... but there's no feeling in it at all from Alexander's perspective. Still didn't make it any easier to read :(

Also, remember in THE BRONZE HORSEMAN when Dasha confronts Tatiana about Alexander, Dasha tells her they haven't had sex since August (around the time Alexander went to save Tatiana in Luga). Then she says, "Why is that?" Implying about his feelings for Tatiana. It does give some comfort that they were not having sex while Tatiana was on the roof, even though they were still clearly intimate.

I agree Kelly.. For me that made the Love he felt for Tatiana incredible and genuine..He played hard when he could.. and fell even harder.

I love that Shell - he fell even harder! I love the line in the book when they are in the tent in Lazarevo and he says "I'm done for". He's surrendering himself. Aaaahhh swoon!

Does anyone know in what part of the book Tatiana and Alexander, he says that he slept with Dasha during his relationship with Tatiana? I can't find it.

He doesn’t say it. But there is a scene in TBTHC where Dasha is sitting on top of him on the canal stairs and he suddenly sees Tatiana’s face and felt her body in his hands. At that point he realised how impossible it all was.

So putting that together with what Dasha says in TBH, they still had sex during the first couple of months. After that I think Alexander did all he could not to be with her. He loved Tatiana and it was really an impossible and complicated situation.

yes, I hate that part as well but I think after Dasha finds out she says that he stopped making love to her. Sometime in July. So maybe they were not actually having sex. Dasha probably wanted to but Alexander probably could not because he loved Tatiana.

They did were having sex in those times. Dasha says they stopped in August. So, sadly, they were still sleeping together even after Luga.

It is sad. But I think Alexander was trying to stay away from Tatiana but he had no resolve because he loved her so much.

Remember when they were in the hospital? How he was talking about how the timing was all wrong for them? It sounded so much like an ending. He tried to make it work with Dasha after Luga, which I think is why he slept with her. But he loved Tatiana so much, he couldn't end their relationship.

I don't hate him for it. It was so complicated.

I don't hate tatiana either. She literally got up every morning at 5 to go get her family bread in the dangerous streets all alone. She gave up her food to her family members and her neighbors. Literally she could do whatever and I wouldn't be able to hate her lol
