We now have 11 members of our Speaking of Audiobooks group. Welcome! Thanks for joining and I hope you will consider friendships with each other as well.
I see that Melinda has started our first discussion about Simply Audiobooks so you may want to check in and offer your comments.
I do have a question and it concerns adding books to the Group's Shelf. What is the advantage of doing so? I was always a bit confused by the need to place books on AAR's Group Shelf over at Shelfari. I'm sure I'm missing something but I see the SOA Goodreads group mostly as a means to meet each other, share our shelves, and discuss audiobooks.
I have limited my Goodreads shelf to just audiobooks and named it “Lea’s Audiobooks Hensley”. It seemed necessary to include my last name for search purposes. Eventually I will move my print library from Shelfari to a separate Goodreads shelf identifying it as print.
I do believe that we will create an audiobook reviews base at AAR soon but in the meantime, all reviews written for the Speaking of Audiobooks column will be included on my shelf (well, within a week or two all should be up) and I will identify each as such. Often I will add further thoughts since I won’t have to worry about word count! I’ll give my thoughts on other audiobooks within my library but probably in a rambling manner. Please know that if you choose to review one of your books, it can be as simple as one statement and will be of value to us all.
