Richard | 46 comments A is for authole, blowing his trumpet...

Couldn't contain myself. Sorry. The joy is just irrepressible, the pride uncontainable, the spamular urge boundless.

Chloe (countessofblooms) | 1128 comments Congrats Richard! That's fantastic news! What a great accomplishment! I have to imagine that you're bouncing off of walls in delight at this.

Next Best Bookers-
I have a copy of Six Fang Marks and a Tetanus Shot that I'll send on to whomever is interested and who will write up a review for Goodreads and Amazon. Yes, I know. I will willingly give up a book from my collection simply because I think that it's worth reading and the love must be spread. The first person to message me their address will be shipped my copy (as soon as I return from holiday).

Richard | 46 comments Thanks a stack, Logan. Your support really means a lot to me. And I sincerely hope you one day regret giving away your first edition copy...

Logan, step away from the author. He seems to have telekentic brainwashing powers far more superior than I have ever seen....

You are GIVING AWAY a book?!?! I cant.. I mean.. I dont... I havent a clue wht to say here. My jaw hit the floor. Im having some trouble getting it back into place. Someone, anyone... I think I need crazy glue. It seems to have come permenantly unhinged.

message 6: by Richard (new)

Richard | 46 comments Yeah, you're right, it's not a book discussion. Thanks.

message 7: by Sherry (new)

Sherry Congradulations Richard! That's wonderful news for you and obviously quite an achievement.Best of luck to you.

message 8: by Richard (new)

Richard | 46 comments Thanks, Sherry. I fell just short of the shortlists for two other South African awards (got an honourable mention and a longlisting), and I wasn't even aware that I was in the running for this award, so it's a nice surprise.

message 9: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Wow! See, it shows that if authors don't throw spam in our faces, we will like them and maybe *gasp* GIVE AWAY A BOOK! Congrats Richard!

Nancy Congratulations, Richard!

I promised myself to cut back on my book spending, but one more little book won't hurt, will it?

Richard | 46 comments Hi all,

Thanks for your warm words of support (and friendship). Just got back from Sweden and heard that I did in fact win the award!

Hopefully this high-grade spam will elude the beady eye of your chief spam sensor/censor!

All the best,

R.

And here I was worried that you used and abused us just to squeeze in your novel. You came back... how lovely. Glad to hear you won!!

message 16: by Richard (last edited Aug 04, 2008 04:21PM) (new)

Richard | 46 comments Thanks! I spent two weeks in Sweden trying to reunite ABBA. Agnetha backed out again and then the others couldn't stop bickering about the order: BAB, ABB, BBA.

Fortunately, the good news was waiting for me as I was crossing the bridge from Sweden into Denmark.

Hope this will help bring a US publisher to the bait.

message 17: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Great news!

Bluedaizy, we will definitely have to splurge on one more book. :)

message 18: by Heather (new)

Heather Richard - keep trying with the ABBA reunion. Or, how about BBA for all the stuttering sheep in the world?

message 19: by Richard (new)

Richard | 46 comments Benny and Bjorn can never decide who gets to go first. I've tried to explain, but they are little more than stuttering sheep in this respect.
