I don't know if your library does this but mine has what is called an interlibrary loan, meaning the bring books form other libraries and let you borrow them for a while. Does your library do that?

I stopped using my local library some time ago, as I'd 'outread' them in the various genre's that I like. I tend to use Amazon for purchasing books, often using their Amazon Market Place sellers. I now give all my read books to local charity shops, so that's an idea for looking for cheap books. Plus, Oxfam have an online book store.

Many libraries donot charge for ILLOs. Only problem is that the books are not new books ie recently published. But great way to get the learlier books in a series you've just discovered.
I get the majority of books from Smashwords or my library. I love Smashwords because it's so convenient and it helps me find authors and books I never would have discovered otherwise.
I kind of go down a rabbit hole some times, I start with an Author I like, then look at what Goodreads have as similar Authors and if any Author has a reading list, then I look on Amazon for the same Author and what other people have read, then I go to fantasy fiction do the same. I often get way too many books that I want to read. When I add it as a "want to read" I generally only add the first book in the series or Author because I up date as I read.
My "Want to Read" list is 300+ but in reality its more like 1500+ I've been getting to daunted looking at it some times.
So many books so little time.
I like to buy my books from Amazon its easy and quick, but recently I've been buying hard copies for a My Love it Library at home so I'm double dipping as well. (I Like to support Authors)
I have about 50 a time, screenshotted to my phone off facebook, so i can download them to my kindle. All are amazon books. I've only had kindle unlimited for three months. I can't believe how much money it saves me. Facebook is my choice of platform where i click on adds for books advertised by the authors etc.
Goodreads lists e.g. "Best steamy romance books"Maryse's Book Blog...lots of book titles to learn about - in all romance genres & sub-genres
