What's on for the weekend??? I don't know and don't care. I have a week off work on annual leave. Haven't had holidays for 18 months. Its only one week and I have an assignment to research and write, but I don't care! And its even more special because I always work weekends, so they usually mean nothing to me. But this coming weekend I'll be off like most other people.

Its one thing to be in your room because you want to, its another when you have to....prison.

So excited for this weekend! Gym in the morning (not the exciting bit) and then going to see Keith Urban in concert tomorrow night, and then to see an international ice hockey match on Sunday night.

My weekend has so far been lots of fun. Yesterday afternoon I went to a special dance class where we learnt a couple of dances for the dance we went to last night and that was great - the dance more so than the practice but it all helps. This morning I got up and went for a walk along the esplanade from Alex Surf Club to the Mooloolaba Spit and back - that was good too. This afternoon I have a jive class, then to the RSL for some dancing. I have managed to read a little in between and each of my 3 books.

Dancing is a lot of fun - I do 4 classes a week, 2 ballroom, one jive and one 6 step rock and roll and I go dancing on Sunday nights at the local RSL and sometimes there is a dance on Saturday and I go to that too. The only problem is that it takes away my reading time. Before I started dancing which was last September I read while I was at home. Now that is getting hard because I still have to try and fit in house work and my job as well - mmmm!
Not quite fit enough unfortunately but it sure is fun.
This weekend will be the first days of EASTER HOLIDAYS! Two weeks with no school :D
I think, us working people call it 'taking a sickie'
G'day all, tomorrow heading of to Innot hot springs for a few days it's about 3 hrs west/slightly south from us, going to 'kick back' enjoy a cold beer or 3 while soaking up the hot springs & surrounds, might even get some insperation while there.

Oh, my Nonna used to work as a nurse in the old Julia Farr building, and my Nonno worked as a gardener there. In the building thats been demolished now, that is...
Well, I was kinda upset. It was definitely interesting to look at, and I felt some sort of connection to it, since thats the first place my grandparents worked when they arrived in Australia from Italy. But yeah, I could definitely tell that it attracts squatters... Holidays...hmmm. Will stay home for the duration of the two weeks, though will definitely go to sleepovers and have people over, which is always fun. But yeah, not much. In October we're going to Palm Cove, so have to save up and not spend to much money. Except on books. I plan on reading heaps :)
My work is having a 2 day conference Thursand and Friday at Novotel Twin Waters and for our dinner on Thursday night we have been asked to dress in something beginning with either a N, C or R. I have decided on my rock and roll skirt.So far my weekend looks to be similar to last weekend. Dance practice on Saturday afternoon, a dance on Saturday night, jive classes on Sunday afternoon and the RSL on Sunday night.

Michael, that sounds like a great job you have there, 12 years is a long time!

I work every weekend and every public holiday (need the money to support the family). I had planned to have the Tuesday after Easter off (apparently it is now a public holiday too) but the boss called and they desperately need someone to open the day unit cos we cant go 5 days without giving treatment. Seems fair. So I'm working my usual night shifts and then come in for an early on Tuesday! Poo, there goes my day off.
It gives me time off during the week, no dramas getting appointments or arranging trades to call etc. Also it helps that I can go long hours without any / much sleep! And fear helps - dont want to run out of money.

Being 50yo and taking out a large mortgage - not always smart, but what the hell. My day to day life is just as i want it (truly I'd like to be rich and not have to work as often but that may not happen in this lifetime). Hence the long hours, weekends and public holidays at work.

So glad you love your home Maggie...it's wonderful if you are able to find the 'perfect fit'!! It makes paying the mortgage worth it, that's for sure! But yes, that lottery win to pay it off would certainly come in handy!! :)
My chances of winning would increase if I remembered to put in an entry!

What are your daughters up to? My 19 yr old is studying Vet Nursing at TAFE, still has a few years to go. My eldest daughter works at the Adelaide Convention Centre, Assistant Events Manager. Sometimes I think she'd like to find something else but she's been there for a few years now.

Oh that would have been lovely, having the seeing-eye dogs there...they are gorgeous!! Very special animals...
We usually also have a cuppa before we start, but I did it myself today, so rushed through quickly..
We certainly don't need to water the garden at the moment ;) lol
Whats on for the weekend? Nothing. Science homework, certainly.
Maybe a dinner with some friends, but I doubt it. Veeeery quiet weekend.

Thats funny Carmel, considering I am dropping french at the end of term. Five weeks left of my french education. Its not that I hate the language, its just that I suck, and my teaching has been so that I dread coming to class. Ive been put in a new class though, so its with all my friends and the people who don't want to continue-I like this current class. Anyway, have fun Carmel! im not fluent, but after learning it for 9 years I know enough to get by in France :)
(aaaaand, science homework is not my idea of fun)

By the end of second term, from the original 23, we had 14-as so many had been stressed out or scared of her, or both. Then me and the last two of my friends jumped ship, into the basic class. A week later they re arranged the classes, so I am in a french class now with the 11 other people who left the Vulture's class. Small class sizes are good.

Yes! We can totally speak french. One of my best friends sends me text messages which often come with the odd french word in the middle. For example: "Sorry, gonna be late parce-que mon pere = unreliable"

The french teachers and religion teachers share the same office space, which is the top floor of one of the buildings, and we call it 'The Vulture's Nest'. I kid you not, I overheard a religion teacher saying this: "Just drop it in my office"
-"Where is your office?"
"Its in The Vulture's Nest...I mean F203! Its room F203!"
ahahaha and once my friend tried talking back to the vulture lady. It was the funniest thing ever. And she despises me, because I used to always hand up 'homework with attitude'.

Haha! Well then, you wouldn't have had to do the homework, would you! I'm guessing you had to hand it in to someone else? Or just leave it on her desk? Oh, what horrible days, no wonder you opted out of her class!!!
Nope, I didnt have to hand it in to anyone else or leave it on her desk. She didn't want to waste her time marking my homework. For example, the time she asked us to write 40 sentences in the future tense, using different verbs.
I just wrote: "Je ferari d'autres commandes maintenant" which translates to: "I will do other stuff now."
haha, or the time she asked for a paragraph about the environment and animals evolution in the future, I wrote it in english. She never actually specified the language :P
Why are french teachers ppl to despise? I had TWO teachers who though they were QUEENS at French and they both had such an attitude as well. I spent most of my French lessons drawing stick figues in France with different themes (depending on my friends crushes at the time)....All I remember is numbers and how to say 'My name is'.Otherwise French was hell..I dropped it as fast as I could even though my Mum is pretty fluent in it (learnt it for 15+years or so).
Actually when I think...Langs have always been hellish. There is always ONE teacher who makes you SUFFER if you're not an A+ student!
But I'll never forget the time a guy made fun of the French teachers WIG cause he was an A.Hole..aahahahhahahaha...Teacher went off crying! What a nit..Had he not been such a bloody snob nothin would of happened.
ahahahaha...that is seriously wrong. Some ppl think cause they are in command of students that they are the rulers..And yes in class they are but they only gain respect if they treat the students as humans..Teachers who don't or are easy to run over and will never get respect even if they think they have it.
Gotta love them teachers. I've got a great lot this year, save my pe teacher-but even she is not too bad.
