What is distracting you from your Chunkster right now? (a.k.a. what else are you reading?)

Just finished

Review can be found here: http://wp.me/pTRJE-4N

I'm currently reading

So surprise I feel overwhelmed. But I'm thinking of just finishing Slash, if I can-it's light & library, & same for If Books could Kill & Maisie Dobbs.
That just leaves the one real chunkster, Wolf Hall, to read with these & I'm about 40% (Kindle-talk) finished & liking it so it might be possible.
Maybe this group will help me organize myself a little so I don't freak myself out with my own reading.
I didn't quite realize how much I was balancing until I listed them (& I left a few off-just getting too embarrassing).

Glad to see that you will be joining us. I am also joining Crimson Petal and the White... when my book arrives. Pillars of the Earth is one of my all time favourite books! Well worth the read and I hope you enjoy it too.
I am also trying to balance five or six other books. I think many of us are so you are in good company in that regard.

Luckily, I see the Pillars read finished a while ago so that one can continue to wait a while.

Actually, the Pillars read was kind of aborted... at the time, I think only a few people started it and then I think it petered off after just a few weeks. I don't know that anyone would be opposed to giving it a try again, though, if there's enough interest. I've had a copy for about 1.5 years no, and hope to get to it at some point not too far from now.

That is a really impressive list of book there!!! I would need a xanax for all the anxiety on which one to read first!!!LOL. Welcome to the group!!

Hi Krisi,
I am not a re-reader of books but would take part in the discussion if it is a go.

I just finished

This was my first Dekker book, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I was a little skeptical at first as I thought it might be heavy on the Christian thing (think preachy) but it wasn't at all. Just a good clean thriller that was full of action.
I reviewed the book here on my blog if anyone's interested in reading it. http://wp.me/pTRJE-54

We'd have to find someone to be the leader if anyone wants to read it...

I just started Daughter of the Forest last night while continuing with Vanity Fair.

I do want to read it. I think I'm a little new here to be a leader but I'd be happy to help out.

I'm really new too Ellie. Would you like to lead it together?

I read it several years ago, and found that it could have used a good editor. The basic story and information were interesting enough, but I thought it needed a lot of tightening up. Not that I don't love long books when the length is productive, I do, but I didn't feel it was necessary in Pillars.
I guess I found it to be really a normal book masquerading as a chunkster!!

I personally disagree :) I was fascinated by pretty much all of it, even the long descriptions. There were parts that were disturbing & difficult to read, but it was a book I could say I really cared about the characters & what was happening.
I do think it helped that I switched back & forth b/w book & audio. If I hadn't listened to the audio as well, I probably would have started flipping through the pages & wondering when the end was going to come. It's definitely a long book!

June would be fine with me and I like Andrea's idea of doing World Without End afterwards if people are interested. I devoured that one too.

If you want to use the reading schedule that was posted last time we tried to read Pillars of the Earth feel free, it is posted here. Please send me a PM with the info for the thread I will post for the Side Read, to see the info that we like to have please refer to Loretta's first post on this thread. Once I have the info I will post the thread and we can see who is interested.
Should be a fun read!

Thanks Kristi!
I will get the info to you today and we'll go from there.

So did I. I just put in the dates for easier reference.
At least we know we have it covered.

I know what you mean, but I think there are worse things. Looking forward to leading with you.
Thanks Kristi for all of your help.

So I'll try to form my URLs very well indeed!
