Series is about twin adult woman who solve mysteries on the side.

This is a series of books, but the only one I read started out that one of the twins was at a swap-meet looking for a old barbie to give to her sister for a birthday present. The guy selling the dolls mistakes her for her sister and tells her to leave.

-One of the sisters is divorced with a teen-age daughter.
- The sisters live next door to each other (at least they do in the one I read.)
- One of the sisters is dating a cop (again at least in the one I read)

Are mirrored twins the same as identical twins, or does that mean something else?

Any idea when this was published? Is it set in the U.S., Britain, or somewhere else?

From Wikipedia: Mirror Image Twins result when a fertilized egg splits later in the embryonic stage than normal timing, around day 9-12. This type of twinning could exhibit characteristics with reversed asymmetry, such as opposite dominant handedness, dental structure, even personality traits connected to right-brain or left-brain dominant individuals. If the split occurs later than this time period, the twins risk being conjoined. There is no DNA-based zygosity test that can determine if twins are indeed mirror image

I believe actress Deidre Hall and her sister Andrea Hall are mirror twins.

A further trait that many (not all, but many) mirror twins have is that in one twin all the organs are in the reversed position. So the appendix is on the left instead of the right, heart is reversed, gall bladder etc. I have a set of mirrored twin cousins. One is right handed, the other left handed, the organ displacement is also present in one. They both have a cowlick, but it's on opposite sides, a mole that they were both born with is on opposite sides. . . All these things are what causes a set of identical twins to be declared "mirror twins" by a doctor.

And I think that if this Is ever ID'ed I want to get a copy for my cousins.
