Kristina | 5 comments For a while now i've been contemplating whether or not i should start reading the House of Night series, and I just can't seem to make up my mind. Some say it's amazing others say it's really bad. I've already read all of Ward, Mead, Harris, Showalter, Harrison Kenyon,Frost, to name just a few and i desperately need a new series to keep me going until the next book in the different series comes out.
Since House of Night has 8 or so books so far it should keep me busy until december when i get Last Sacrifice.
BTW some have suggested i read Laurell K. Hamilton, and i did try to read the first book (twice now) and still havent been able to get farther than chapter 20. Same goes for Feehan's Carpathians only been able to get a few chapters done and then my brain starts to melt.
Please help me out here people I feel like i'm dying, whilst waiting for my fav authors to release new books.

Josie | 1967 comments Oooohhh, this is tricky. Opinions do vary quite a lot on the HoN series (including my own).
I started them when I was a bit younger and they were one of the first series that I read so I kind of became loyal to them. I personally didn't really click with the first few but grew to really like them however I've heard some people say the opposite.
I say give them a go! They are so quick to read that even if you don't like them, you won't waste too much time and at least you can comment on the books in discussions etc. I don't love them, but I do like the books and they are quite different.
Also I don't think they are like LKH (although I haven't read any of hers), I think they are aimed more at teenagers but I'm sure there are other people who like the series also. Hope my rambling helps!

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I'm going to go with Josie on this one, Kristina. I have read all the HoN books released and while I loved it initially, lately I've been wondering why I continue with them. That being said, they are quick reads and will at least keep you reading until your favs are out. Each book does have interesting bits, it's just certain things that have started to bother me over time. Maybe you'll love them all, either way, never know till ya try. At least give book #1 a go and see how ya like it. :)

Angi | 485 comments For me, I'm on "Tempted" which is number 6 in the series. I last read "Hunted" and it was a fast read, but honestly, it annoys me anymore and I started out LOVING the series. I thought it was really good at the beginning but just sort of continues down hill though the second and possibly even the third I still really enjoyed. I'll continue to read just because I have to see what happens but it's definitely down on the list of things to read. Good luck!
