Kim | 181 comments Searching for Pemberley had me slightly fooled. I thought there would be more P&P reference in the book, but alas it's a small portion of the storyline.

I read the book earlier in the year (check out my review for a better review than this) and don't remember a TON of the specifics but I remember that the book was more a historical depiction of WWII England then it was about P&P. The P&P got WAY confusing. Basically the plot is that this woman is overseas in England working during WWII in one of the army offices I believe and meets this woman who claims that the story of P&P is true. That it's based on real people. The main female character (the one working for the army) begins learning the story of the "real" Lizzie and Darcy. Let me just say that it was SO confusing trying to keep up with the characters in the book vs. who their real life counter-part was. There are times where I think even the author was confused and messed up on some of the names. All while this is going on the main female character is struggling with her real life relationships and her growing feelings for another man.

The ending of the book comes out of left field (in my opinion). It just didn't seem like the book had worked itself up to that point. It would have been better left as a second book rather then squeezed into the ending of this one.

I believe there is a discussion thread for this book set up as well!
