SOLVED!: Skeleton in yellow Car on cover [s]

I am looking for a book i read in high school about a boy who through circumstances i cant recall becomes death, he inherits deaths flying horse and car etc, i recall the front or back cover having a yellow (corvette?) with a skeleton sitting in the front seat or something to that effect, i once heard this was part of a serious of books and each one covers a different power, death - nature etc
