Kelso Well, I regret spending money on this book. In every instance she is compelled to rewrite the same sentence in about 7 different ways. Toby liked going to the Mission...The Mission was Toby's favourite spot to go...The Mission was a frequent visiting spot for Toby...Toby's favourite hiding spot was the Mission....

C'mon, we get it after the first time, but she does this through the whole book. I honestly don't think I can continue to read this trash. I read the jacket, and it said Angels, Assassins (playing Assassin's Creed 2 currently, so was into this) and time travel to a previous century, so I was pretty excited. Well, now I'm excited to buy something else. To quote Tank from The Matrix "Major boring sh!t"

Kathleen Valentine I agree. If she had eliminated the repetition the book would have been 50 pages long.

Plus I thought Toby was a drip.

Ellie I loved this book, especially after trying to read it last year...Finally finished it today...LOVED IT!!!

Gin Tadvick Not her best work. I agree about the repetition. Only read because it was a gift and I needed a paperback to go in my briefcase. Won't be reading the rest of the series.

I think she has abandoned the series -- she is now writing about werewolves. I don't think the angel books were commercially successful for her.

Probably a good thing!

Felicia Yawn, indeed.

Dinah I think it was a good "short story". It did not feel like a full book though.

Cathy I have to agree. I'm not a religious person at all but even so I found Christ the Lord engaging. This was just drivel. I've read everything by her and couldn't make myself even buy the sequel for my collection.

Dinah I read the sequel. It was not good at all.

Sue I hated this book. It was so boring and poorly written that l can scarcely believe it was from the same writer as "lnterview with a Vampire." She stated herself that she lost her faith then rejoined the Catholic church before she wrote this piece of garbage. Now, she's back to being a heathen and will hopefully write more stuff about sexy, morally bankrupt undead douchebages that we love her for.

Jules I was disappointed as well. I have high expectations with this series, but it's missing something....hmm?

I agree with that - this felt really brief for an Anne Rice novel. It lacks her usual attention to detail.

Yoli I agree something is missing, I expected more. I love her other novels, oh well you win them all.

Joseph Duncan The pages and pages of setting descriptions frustrated me.
