I used to read mainly mystery novels by Mary Higgins Clark, Michael Connelly and Patricia Cornwell. About 5 years ago, I needed a break from this genre and had read good reviews about 'Whitney, My Love' by Judith McNaught and so I bought it. Well, I never looked back and, from that time on, I became addicted to historical romances!

I've been reading romance since I outgrew Nancy Drew, which was in 4th grade. I remember devouring those Sweet Dreams (Bantam) and Sweet Valley High books. Even a few Teen Silhouette. I thought those Teen Silhouette books were kinda different from the rest and I was so sad when it was discontinued.
My first book when I got back into reading was Northern Lights by Nora Roberts and I was hooked on romance. Then I discovered historical romance and I found that I really enjoy reading about romance in those times - my favourite time is the late 1700's to late 1800's.
I used to read a lot in elementary school. In the 4th grade I couldn't reach the shelves for the junior high school books. I had to have the librarian get them down for me. She couldn't believe I could read that level book. She got down the book I wanted and had me read a page to her and then tell her what that page was about. From there I had no problems with her. I don't remember the titles but the majority of what I read were teen romance. Then I quit reading for years. At my job I got a new boss who loved Nora Roberts and JD Robb. She would bring me a bag of books every week. So that started my Romance reading and I haven't stopped since. My tastes in romance have changed. I've found I absolutely cannot read any sort of historical or regency romance.
