Heidi Courtney I was just thinking of adding Meg to my featured author thread - your comment made me decide to do so! I love her :)

Courtney K (cklueh) You should definitely add Cabot to your list. I read size 12 is not fat and it was so funny. I'm going to read all of Judy Blume's books this year b/c I missed out on them when I was younger.

Ha! Weird. I just asked if people would like to read Judy Blume as a featured author. I love her!

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Just as Long as We're Together is one of my childhood favorites.

I hung a poster over my bed of Patrick Swayze as Johnny, just the same as STephanie's picture of Richard Gere.

Becca | 1608 comments So I know yesterday was when I was supposed to "Report in" but I think I forgot, lol. I'm at 30/111.

When I was growing up you don't want to know how many pictures of Patrick Swazye was on my wall...LOL

I am not a fast reader so I don't think I am going to make it with this challenge. :( I am going to be lucky if I get 100 for the whole year :(

message 107: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I'm nervous about the 111 challange either. I have to read an estimated 9 books a month. Some months I read 10 or 11, but some months I only get to 3. It'll be by the skin of my teeth if I make it.

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) I have only read 5 this month working on #6 :(

message 109: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I'm working on my 5th right now, so you're one ahead of me, lol.

Rach (pagesofpiper) (piperbunny) 18/111 :)
I dont think I'll get to 111... but I'll be over the moon if I get to 55 :)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Well I am doing better than I thought I would I read 10 books last month and I didn't realize that I had read so many so maybe I can do this after all..lol though I have only read one for this month so far but I am working on about three..lol.

message 112: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I think I'm at 35 now. I think I'll make it.

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Wow, I wish I could read that fast. Envious! :)

message 114: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I honestly have no idea how I find the time. I average about 9 books a month (ish).

message 115: by Courtney (new)

Courtney K (cklueh) I read more now than ever because we don't have cable and I read while my son watches his programs (Sesame Street and Bob the Builder).

message 116: by Courtney (new)

Courtney K (cklueh) I've read 41/111 so far. Bobo is up to 164+ books.

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) I am doing so horrlbe this month with my reading compared to last month. :( I must step up the pace a little.

message 118: by Courtney (new)

Courtney K (cklueh) 51/111. After this month, I'll be to the halfway point.

message 119: by Courtney (new)

Courtney K (cklueh) Are we still doing this? Did everyone switch over to the challenge from GR?

I'm at 63/111. Over halfway there. I need to add some more books for Bobo, but he's at about 220 I'd say. He reads lots of comics with his daddy when I'm not home. He also looks at his comics while I'm reading my book at night. I really need to get a picture of it for my profile.

message 120: by Courtney (new)

Courtney K (cklueh) I forgot to talk about the adult books I read as part of the challenge. I enjoyed The Sugar Queen and Club Dead, but didn't like Crown Jewel, Confessions of a Shopaholic or Carpe Demon.

The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen Club Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, #3) by Charlaine Harris Crown Jewel by Fern Michaels Confessions of a Shopaholic (Shopaholic, #1) by Sophie Kinsella Carpe Demon Adventures of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom (Kate Connor - Demon Hunter, #1) by Julie Kenner

message 121: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Yay for the Sugar Queen!

Amalie Chelly (Books Like Stars) wrote: "Read 111 books by 11/11/11?

This sounds cool, I'm in, this is what I need to read faster (I'm such a procrastinator). I'll be honest though, most of the books I'll read for this challenge will be..."

I'm actually planning to do this. I'm part of the Goodreads '2011 Reading Challenge' and I'm now 77 of 111.

message 123: by Amanda (new)

Amanda My challenge is 2 read 57 books so far i'm at 21/57 :/

message 124: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (melissa_wy) | 112 comments I'M 57 OUT OF 80...YAY

message 125: by Becky (new)

Becky (bookhoover) Haven't checked in for a while. I'm at 92--more if you count the picture books I read for work (I'm a children's librarian).

Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon: Sometimes a fat book takes only a couple of days to read, when a significantly skinnier book can take a week or more? I seriously think you read faster when you're totally drawn into the story.

message 126: by Julie (new)

Julie Oh I forgot about this challenge! I was planning to do it. I've read 76 books since January 1st this year but I don't think I've read any that aren't my normal kind of books.

Rach (pagesofpiper) (piperbunny) I'm up to around 60 books (yay!)

Has anyone finished yet? Two months to go!

message 128: by Courtney (new)

Courtney K (cklueh) I just went back through and marked the books from the last couple of months. I'm done and I didn't know it! 111/111 COMPLETE

If you are interested, you can see all the books I read this year here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/...

message 129: by Courtney (new)

Courtney K (cklueh) Bobo finished his challenge, too. His list is at 294/250. Those are just the books I've read with him. I'm sure he's reached twice that number with family and story time reading.
