So what do you think will happen in the next book?

I have also think the Volteri will be very interested in Bella after she is changed. I also wonder if Bella is realy going to go through with the "change", part of me wonders if she still have some lingering doubts. If she does "change" I am very curious about how that will be for her. I am also curious to see if after she changes, it will be so different that she wil go through immortality with a deep regret, because of being 18 and shortsighted.
I thought maybe that Jacob might become another one of the Indian legends, but that was before I heard the talk of another book.
I wonder also how the author wil handle all the sexual issues, because this is a young adult series and she's put that off so well and kept it so clean. I have liked that, but clearly with an impending marriage the characters are moving into adulthood.

She is safe inside her own mind. Edward told her that. I don't think she'll thirst for blood like the others. Oh, sure, she may have to have SOMETHING (animal) to stay strong, but I think her transformation will be different in that sense. Problems solved.
She can still visit her family and act like a normal person as long as they don't realize she isn't aging (and she can seriously put that down to plastic surgery or something that her rich husband bought for her).

I hope that Jacob imprints on a different girl and that he and Bella stay friends even if she does get 'changed'
and on the movie, I actually don't really want to see it because there is no way humanly possible for the movie makers to make a normal guy, actor though he may be, into something as devine and perfect looking as Edward. Make-up and CG can only go so far! And what about his voice!? Ah.... I don't know, I guess I'll just have to see and wait

Holly, thanks for the info, that makes sense

I hope we hear more from Jacob, I'd like to see what his future holds-just as long as it doesn't involve Bella!
As to Bella becoming a vampire, well it would be nice to not have her be so frail and helpless all the time!!! Enough with the damsel in distress already! I'd love to hear more of Alice's story, but I'm afraid there's not much there considering she has no memory. So how far could that go?
As for the movie, I've already decided I can't see it!!! I've read the spoilers on Summit production and it's really nothing like the book and I hate it when movies are LOOSELY based on their books. So a big BOO on the movie from me!!

I've researched Stephenie Meyers ALOT and these books are part of her imagination, so for Sister Catherine to boldly say what she will or will not do in her book is presumptious to say the least.
Lets just remember it's a fictional story, and that the author just happens to be LDS. That's as far as the connection goes.

I'm actaully starting to wonder if it won't be the Volturi that end up changing Bella because they want her abilities. Guess we'll have to wait til August to find out.

I was checking out a fan website, and there's was some rumor that Stephenie Meyer said that Edward won't be the one that changes Bella?? That it will be someone no one expects?? This is just a rumor, but I'm extremely curious to see if it's true.
Does anyone know how to speed up time??

And it's already been said that Bella and Edward will get married, so that's given.
Somehow the Jacob portion of the story will have to be resolved, and you can be sure the Volturi will also be involved. As to what else may happen, we'll just have to wait and find out.

Jacob is changed by Tanya (who is summoned by the Volturi) and takes a fancy to her.
Carlisle does his research and realizes it's hemoglobin that they need,(not all the blood) so now Bella can ingest the stuff without worrying about the rust and salt smells.
Charlie hooks up with Irina (which works because of the synthetic hemoglobin thing).
They can manufacture synthetic hemoglobin and everyone is happy and living forever after, except for the Volturi who are ripped apart by the remaining werewolves.
Just a thought. Anyone going to buy that bracelet on the Twilight teez website?
This has been an interesting (one month) ride for me. Lots of coincidences and synchronicity with these books. I got Twilight for my birthday, and on the same day, my husband got me a necklace with a wolf on it. So, you know who I want to be happy!

I am LDS too and I have to say, this "Sister Catherine" sounds like she is teaching her own personal doctrine, NOT our Church's beliefs. I don't think that Stephenie Meyer is trying to base her series on the Mormon faith. Instead it is merely a good fantasy novel. Members of my church don't believe in vampires at all, so what difference does it make if Meyer turns Bella into a vampire or not? The only part of LDS doctrine that I can see evidenced in these books is the fact that Edward believes in sexual abstinance before marriage, which I commend.
well, holly, i dont think its possible for bella to die in the transformation because a) if the book starts with the wedding, then i imagine the transformation will come soon after, and if she died then the book would be awfully short, and b) she narrates the book, (its in 1st person) so how could she die?

Wedding: We have to see how Bella's parents and friends react to her getting married, and I'd like to see the actual wedding, not just hear about it afterward.
Jacob: He's obviously got to have a role here, but I'm not sure what it will be. Would he try to stop the wedding, even though he knows it wouldn't mean getting Bella? Will he imprint on a female werewolf who maybe is jealous and tries to hurt Bella?
Bella's transformation: What will this do to the treaty? Will the wolves go hunting for the Cullens, now that Jacob isn't there to stop them like he said he would? When Bella is changed, will Edward still feel cold and hard to her touch? How do you think she'll react as a newborn? What do you think her special power will be, if she has one (and they've hinted pretty heavily that she does).
Alice: We need to hear the rest of her story. They've hinted at it in at least the first two books, and we know she has a living niece. Will she try to find her and figure out what happened? I hope so.
What do you think? What are your questions?
