Xystus- means smooth and polished in Latin.
Tonic- I'm sure katniss's mother made lots of these. Like the one for hazel for her hands.
((from now on everytime i come to a word ending in 'c' i'm gonna say this:))
CAPITOLANIAN - !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CAPITOLANIAN - !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
tea - i think they still have tea, either way I like tea
Apple - Some go into the forest and get apples in the fall. Other than that, it's just Katniss, Gale, and the animales.
electric - fence, provided they can get past it (thinking of CF)
Charicature- those funny drawing they do at amusement Parks and stuff. I wonder if they still do that there
eel - a type of fish, they fish in D4
Aerosmith- I wonder if they have bands in the capital.
helium - balloons for celebrations in the Capitol?
emaciated - what Foxface was
deal - a conclusion of a trade, they traded in the Hob
Lap - dogs would fit into the toy classification, I think Capitolonians would put them in their purses.
puppy - from what you said :P
Totes - like totally. ^ I felt that way when I heard my elementary school age cousin and his class were going to read THG as a class. I mean, he's at an age where he can comprehend it, but not understand the deeper meaning. :| I dunno. Wheeeeee.

Of - course, if they are just going to do vocab words and such, I'm not going to be in a happy mood. I mean, they're not going to be all "I'm going to join an online club about THG!" but more "School read. Ugh. WHY?!" And never reread it and see the the real story/meaning and such. But I like keeping the books to myself, call em selfish, but when I like something (a book, usually), I'm often quite hesitant to share it with others. :P

Right - but these kids seem a bit too young to be reading THG for mandatory reading. Though I know plenty of kids in junior high who have read the books. My school had THG mandatory for Sophomores last year, so... I dunno, call me a killjoy, a buzzkill, but yeah. When I was their age, we were reading Hatchet and Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry.
