Unfortunately, the USA's war-mongering administration is making more and more noise (saber rattling) trying to start another illegal and immoral war, this time with Iran.
i am leaving my home in San Francisco on Saturday (12 July) early afternoon for 10 days in Washington DC. i will be staying at the CodePink house (CodePink women for PEACE) to lobby, participate in actions (see link below for an example):
and to visit our congressional representatives in an attempt to prevent this insane talk of attacking Iran.
i had the opportunity to travel around Iran this past April and May (Tehran, Esfahan, Shiraz, Yadz)and found it to be one of the most diverse and mature civilizations i have ever experienced, (and i have had the good fortune to visit about 45 countries).
but i thought... nothing is as effective as someone who REALLY knows the beautiful country of Iran. I know you understand with nuance and complexity, the wonderful and totally unique culture that is Iran much better than we do.
if you, or others you know, could write what an unprovoked attack by the USA would mean to you, your families, your lives - i will carry those messages by hand and give copies of them to the members of the US Congress i visit.
please consider taking the time to do this and email me; and ask any other Iranians, or Iranian Americans you know to please do the same - i want to be the most effective voice for peace i can be.
