Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments The Event is the best new series to come out of the 2010 Fall season.

Shown out of sequence, it makes for interesting viewing. Mysterious, intense and lots of surprises, it kept me on the edge of my seat and left me wanting more.

Kelley (kheckart) | 456 comments I agree. The pilot was done very well. At first I was thinking that it would be confusing with the out of sequence scenes, but the way they did it was awesome and not confusing at all. It's the only new show so far that I can't wait to see again.

Thanks for starting this new topic. Let's hope the show doesn't get canceled. I don't think it will but you never know these days.

message 3: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments It is the only new show worth watching. I've tried a few others and they were OK at best. Not like The Event which came on like gangbusters. I can hardly wait for the next episode.

I have a feeling this is going to be the new 'It' show. If it isn't, then America is more low-brow that I thought, LOL This is a show that challenges us and makes us think. I love shows like that.

Now finally I have something worth watching on the most boring night of the week: Monday. Watch them move it to Thursday next year.

Becky | 186 comments I'll admit I like that they answer some of the questions from the past episode, and then bring up a whole slew of more! So far its a keeper!!

message 5: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments Becky, that's another reason why I like The Event. Unlike Lost, where you get 100 more questions and maybe 1 answer somewhere down the line.

message 6: by Holli (new)

Holli Still loving this show.... I definitely hope they keep it.

message 7: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments Me too. It's totally off the hook!

message 8: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments SPOILERS from eztv:

Just in time for Halloween, NBC’s The Event jacks up the creep factor this Monday when the ailing, zombie-esque “survivors” of Avias Air Flight 514 take a turn for the worse. “They’re [undergoing] a transformation that could eventually lead to death,” explains series creator Nick Wauters, who adds that Thomas — the possibly-alien puppet master who gave them the mysterious illness — will continue to “use them as leverage to try and get the president to free his people.” Based on the new, disturbing set of symptoms that crop up this Monday, something tells me Mr. Prez is going to strongly consider meeting his demands.

message 9: by Kathy (new)

Kathy | 375 comments I'm liking this show too. I was worried at first because the hype was very intense. So far there has been no let down.

message 10: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments I agree. I almost didn't watch it because of the hype, thinking it can't be that good.

message 11: by Holli (new)

Holli Great spoiler Jackie!

message 12: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments I hope they don't make it cheesy with Zombies.
If anything could kill a TV show, it's Zombies, LOL

message 13: by Kelley (new)

Kelley (kheckart) | 456 comments I never could understand why Zombies became so popular. They are gross and they eat brains.

message 14: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments And they're slow and stupid. I could outrun them while hopping on one foot backwards. Maybe they eat brains in the hopes their's start to work, LOL

message 15: by Kelley (new)

Kelley (kheckart) | 456 comments Yeah, a person has to be really lame to get killed by a slow moving, stupid Zombie. They are TSTL (too stupid to live) characters.

message 16: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments LMAO, and The Mummy too. Come on, who can't outrun a desiccated 2000 year old dead guy?

message 17: by Holli (new)

Holli Just heard The Event has been cancelled....

message 18: by Jackie (last edited May 13, 2011 12:25PM) (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments I figured as much; it wasn't that good anyway.
Once we found out they were aliens, it's been anti-climactic.

message 19: by Holli (new)

Holli Yeah I haven't been watching it since it started back again.......

message 20: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments You haven't missed anything.

message 21: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments The finale was really good.
Now I'm a little bummed it's cancelled.

They shouldn't have dragged it out. As it turns out, it's pretty damn interesting. But they saved that for the last 5 minutes of the series. Had they given it to us sooner, they might have kept their audience.

message 22: by Holli (new)

Holli What happened in the last 5 minutes Jackie? I'm curious now... I've watched the eps this season off and on with my boyfriend but we haven't watched the final one yet. Just curious where they were going with it all.

message 23: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments Sophia's people back home were facing extinction so she planned on using the portal to bring them here. She tried to unleash a deadly virus so the humans would die, Sean stopped her but then she tells Elias that it was a humane way to get rid of the population, now it's too late. Right then, the portal opens and brings her entire planet, not just the people, the whole planet right there in the sky.
Also, Simon told Sean that they were here first but didn't get the chance to explain.

message 24: by Holli (new)

Holli FINALLY it got good!!! That sucks.....

message 25: by Jackie (last edited Jun 01, 2011 05:42PM) (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments I know.
And it's their own fault that it got cancelled. If they gave us this kind of thing sooner, they'd have retained their audience's interest. Instead they gave us terrorists-vs-government most of the season.

These new shows need to learn to keep our interest. Even good shows get cancelled in their first year. They need to be outstanding. And they shouldn't have cliffhanger endings unless they know they're getting another season. That's the most annoying thing about it all: being left hanging with no resolution at all.

message 26: by Holli (new)

Holli Mere minutes after NBC canceled freshman thriller The Event on the unlucky Friday, May 13, show creator Nick Wauters and executive producer Steve Stark told fans that there was a chance the drama could continue elsewhere. That possibility is now taking shape.
Sources confirm that Syfy is in talks to pick up The Event as a miniseries. Helping things is the fact that Syfy and The Event producer, Universal Media Studios, are corporate siblings. But migrating a broadcast show to cable is never easy, and I hear discussions are underway to see if it would be financially feasible.

message 27: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments Syfy couldn't afford that cast. Some of them are veteran actors who bring in the big bucks.

message 28: by Holli (new)

Holli Well, it will only be a miniseries so they may be able to afford it that way....

message 29: by Jackie (last edited Jun 01, 2011 05:43PM) (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) | 4961 comments That'll be better, a miniseries. Then we can get closure and find out about that planet in the sky without committing to another full season.

message 30: by Holli (new)

Holli That's what we were thinking!
