I wish I was one of those people who had a precise writing schedule, that could lock myself in a quiet office for several hours a day and write.
Unfortunately, (or fortunately) I have a full-time job and a growing family still at home. Thus I do most of my writing on the weekends and a little in the evenings after work.
My lunch hours are my social time with friends.
My "office" is usually Borders' Cafe with my daughters by my side and my trusty lap top.
I plug into my music to drown out other noise. It's an eclectic mix including but not limited to the Beach Boys, Adam Lambert, Billy Ray Cyrus, Dolly Parton, Aerosmith, the Beatles, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Franki Valley & the 4 Seasons, Dion, Bobby Darrin, Diana Ross, the 4 Tops, The Monkees, Lady Ga Ga, the Dixie Chicks, and the Bee Gees.
I love to research and do so before and during my writing.
I don't use tight outlines as that makes me feel as if I've already written the book. But I make a lot of notes and think about my characters much of the day, no matter what else I may be doing.

If you write, what is your process?
