Piratica by Tanith Lee was a humorous heartfelt story of love and adventure. I loved the first 2 books in the series but the third and last book made me cry for weeks on end. Let me just say that if the main character had died, then the ending would have been better than what the real ending was. *shudders*
If you really want, you can read the first 2 books. It's more childish ( it is a YA book after all) than what you would be used to, but its a quick quirky read. The characters are a tolerable and some are lovable. If you like strong female leads, then you will love Art.
BUT PLEASE I BEG OF YOU, Do Not Read the third book, unless you like heartbreaking and sad endings...
Oh wow... I'm so glad you posted this! I have a very hard time with sad books. I cry and cry! I'll make sure not to read this. :)

at the end, her friends thought she died, she broke her oath to her mother that she would never kill ( which was all in vain), her husband that she loves and tried to protect through out the whole book ends up falling in love and marrying another woman, her daughter doesn't care about her and prefers the other woman, her father that swore he'd be there for her never came to help her in battle, she drowned thinking where was her husband when she needed him and now she lives a loney life in India and no one knows she's still alive.... the end....

So glad you posted this here Sabrina...this sounds a little to "tramatic" for me..and its a YA book? Im surprised the author would have all that going on in a book for YA? I like strong Heroines, drama, ect..but the "demise" of a main character or an ending with no happy "closure"belongs here for sure.

Wow. That sounds awful! I can't handle such emotional trauma. I'm so sorry you read it and were so affected by it.
