I always found multiple series annoying. I'd prefer to list one using the series function and provide alternate orders in the description.
How about "Greatwinter" and "Greatwinter-Alternate" or "Greatwinter [Alt]"?

That would work in this instance, I guess, but could get really tiresome for the long ones with lots of books.

In this case, maybe a "Greatwinter US" and a "Greatwinter AU"?

One of the initial formatting suggestions was to treat it like subseries, so in this case it would be "Greatwinter: American publication order".
