Lily Mulholland (lily_mulholland) | 4 comments Hi, I contributed a story to Flash! (ISBN978-1-61706-028-1) and added myself as a contributor. Then I read the librarian rules/discussions and saw that all contributors should be listed. Problem is there are more than 50 individual contributors. So, I deleted myself and now only the anthology editor is listed. What should happen here? Thanks!

Edited to say I should very much like to have this publication listed on my GR author page!

If you know the who the others are or know of a link to them you can post it here and one of the librarians can add the 50 but there is no reason why you cannot be added with out the others until we find out who they are

Eva-Marie Nevarez (evamarie3578) | 753 comments Can we add more than 50? I think Lily wants to make sure all of the authors get on there so no one is left out.
As far as I know that's possible Lily. Like Paula said one of us can add them all if we know their names.

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments There is a limit - I cannot remember if it is 30 or 50 or something else

I believe the limit is currently 50.

Eva-Marie Nevarez (evamarie3578) | 753 comments Say there are 51+ authors how would we determine? The order in the book? Just curious...

message 7: by Paula (new)

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments The manual indicates

books with multiple authors
Goodreads currently allows up to x authors per book. Authors should be listed in the order they appear on the book cover. If there is no cover or covers of various editions differ, use alphabetical order. For compilations that include both editors and authors, please list the editors first and then other contributors.

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 2400 comments I've just added the "extras" to the book description field, sometimes the total list there.

message 9: by Cait (new)

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Authors should generally be added in the order in which they're listed on the book, but if there are more authors than fit in the author slots, I would give priority to authors who are part of the Goodreads Authors program and/or who post here requesting that they be listed for the book even if they're listed after other nonparticipating authors.

Lily Mulholland (lily_mulholland) | 4 comments Many thanks for the replies - how about I add the known GR authors in the slots as contributors (in alpha order), and place a complete alpha list in 'extras'?

Also, if the anthology editor is also a contributor, do I list her twice?

Thanks so much for your help!

Assuming by "extras" you mean as part of the description, that sounds fine.

Lily wrote: "Also, if the anthology editor is also a contributor, do I list her twice?"

No. But you can assign her the role "editor/contributor".

message 13: by Natasa (new)

Natasa (natasalikes) | 146 comments What about different editions? Should all the contributors be added there as well or just the editor(s)?

message 14: by Sandra (new)

Sandra | 31448 comments Yes, the contributors should be added to all editions. Just like it was a stand alone book.
