HAI! sorry if anyone got excited at there was a new post, i must've disappointed everyone. i just noticed my charrie Rowena and was APPALLED at how bad my spelling was- so i decided to re-vamp her. if you can be bothered, please tell me what you think! ^_^NB: when i made this character i didn't know that Oerba dia Vanille existed and only had a vague concept of Final Fantasy at all so please don't judge me!
Full Name: Rowena Iancito
Age: Rowena's lifestyle doesn't find it necessary to keep track of her age- though the forest know's it's 17
Race: Feral Human
Gender:Female
Physical Description: Describing Rowena's looks isn't as simple as it sounds- though luckily i chose images to describe her (cause there is NO WAY i could use words to do her justice) but because of a "curse" she's had since birth, Rowena changes her appearance depending on various conditions. she used to think it was simply based on whether it was day or night, but as the story progresses, he begins to change more and more often. her "normal" appearance is this

Rowena is primarily a comforter and there is an innate sense of good in her that wants to make people happy. it would be virtually impossible for her to do an act of evil on her own- she'd have to be under someone elses influence to even consider doing unnecessary harm to others.
Saying that, Rowena puts complete faith in the spirit of the forest, who raised her almost from birth, and will do whatever it tells her. if someone is threatening the forest, they will be given no quarter.
Rowena is extremely superstitious, and anything she hasn't seen before will send her almost hysterical. she can deal with common forms of magic, but anything new to her - or anything undead- she will not be able to cope with. calming her down in these situations is no easy task.
However superstitious she is, Rowena is also naturally curious, and can become infatuated by new things she doesn't immediately find threatening. she is often so curious that she'll ignore warnings from her companions, if she has any, and do something that could be dangerous to her and to those around her. this mainly only happens when the spirit of the forest is absent in her life.
As i mentioned before, Rowena puts ALL her trust into the spirit of the forest, and feels lost and confused without it. In a place (such an evil enchanted cave) where the forest is not able to be with her, Rowena becomes lost and confused, and would have to be guided at all times. without the forest, she feels she is unsafe and vulnerable to the forces of evil in the world. it would be in this confused state that she would often become over hysterical OR over curious, and cause harm to herself and those around her.
When in a group, Rowena longs for a leading figure. she'll find the person that appears to be most revered and tires to make friends with them, offering help and support, in the hope that the leader figure will in turn protect her. this is not to say she will ONLY form friendships for her own gain- indeed, if she does not like a person she will stay as far away as she can from them, even if they have the potential to offer her the most protection of all. just for some reason, like with the forest, Rowena instinctively tries to follow higher power, not take control for herself- though if she had more confidence i'm sure she would make an able commander.
Rowena always tries to excel at any task she's been given, particularly if given it by someone she looks up to- but often her desire to do well is so strong that she panics - fearing she'll let everyone down- and become imcompetent at her task.because of this it is best not to leave Rowena on her own when doing something such as… protecting the group from the leaders evil brother.
Rowena loves animals. she herself has two wildcat spirit guardians, sent to protect her, which were a gift from the forest. however she adores all animals, especially sentient ones, and will try to make friends with even the snobbiest hippogriff or the most obstinate dragon.
As well as a comforter, it is more natural for Rowena to be a healer on the battle field- that or a ranger- and mainly stays back from the action. however if needs be, she can use the power of the forest to create powerful attacks. mostly she sticks to
a) using her bow
b) using the spirit of the forest to protect her friends
and c) healing the people doing most of the fighting.
Finally, Rowena is terrified of HellHounds. she'll do anything to escape them, including going into an area she knows is full of undead monsters. her superstition is only ever overridden by her curiousity and her fear of the infernal HellHounds.
Philosophical Qualities: no one's filled this in anyway!
but if you take it as alignment, the Rowena would be Neutral Good. she doesn't know the laws anyway, living in the depths of the forest as she does, but her heart and soul is instinctively drawn towards the good and repelled by evil forces.
Bio: Rowena was born to a superstitious clan on the coastline. These clan members are known to be extremely fond of everyone within their boundaries- though competition and snobbery is sometimes found- but were horrified when Rowena was found to change at night. she was kept for a year and seven months- the time thought it would take for any daemons to flee her body- but when she continued to change was abandoned outside the colony.
One family of the colony couldn't bear to see such a little child die on her own, so took Rowena in and raised her in secret, taking extra care to keep her hidden at night. however the daughter of this kind family hated Rowena, and constantly teased her, and when Rowena was five threatened to alert the rest of the clan that she was still living with them. Rowena's carers (the daughter's parents) were horrified at the thought of her being discovered- it would probably be fatal for both Rowena and the family- but didn't want to kill her or let her go. but eventually one thing made up their minds- fear. much as they couldn't see anything wrong with Rowena apart from her changing- and she was growing up into the sweetest little girl- that one fact of her changing terrified the family immensely. eventually they made the decision that five years old was old enough to survive alone- should the deities favour her. if the deities didn't favour her then she wasn't meant to live anyway.
so at five, Rowena was abandoned in the forest. she wandered lonely for days, and eventually just curled up in a ball, waiting to die. she must have fallen asleep for when she awoke she was in the company of two wildcats- and a voice in her head. the voice was the spirit of the forest and she could sense it flowing around her- the presence was strong and comforting. it raised her and looked after her for her entire life since she was abandoned- she owes everything to it. it would train her and teach her and keep her out of harms way. without the spirit of the forest, Rowena wouldn't have survived.
Family/Relationships: none she keeps in touch with- her entire clan abandoned her, eventually. she only knows one person from her past- Enelim- the daughter of the people who looked after her until she was five. she despises the misguided monk, but at the same time doesn't want to lose her now she's been found- it's the only shard of her past left.
Back Story: surely that's the same as bio!
Powers/Extras: Rowena has an innate connection with the forest and the spirit of the forest itself. she can call on it in times of need to protect her, heal her, conceal her, or anything she has to do to survive or help her reach her goal. because of this special connection the Shadows cursed her to change at night- so everyone she knew would hate her and fear her. they wanted to drive her to despair and make her commit suicide, but the forest was looking after her more than enough to cope with that. yes, her clan and family hated her and ostracized her, but out in the forest she was never alone, and when she finally found people she could call friends they didn't care what she looked like.
Crushes: she will NEVER admit this, but Rowena likes Larken. Much as she used to call him a "stuck up prig of a scholar boy" Rowen's softened up to him and is actually very fond of him. too bad he doesn't feel the same way.

Race: Enelim is the essence of human beings- that is, she is everything a human IS, without actually being one herself.
Gender: Female
Physical Description: Enelim has dark skin and big, round eyes, which are chocolat in colour. her hair is black, and swept back into a messy bun and sidefringe that just keeps out of her eyes. she wears pale khaki monk robes and soft leather boots. white cloth is wrapped around her lower forearm- a bit like a bandage. she carries a wooden quarterstaff with her at all times.
Emotional Description: Enelim is a misguided soul. she believes she is doing good when in fact she is helping the forces of evil. she tries to be helpful and serene, but in fact is quite possessive and get jealous of other people easily. her connection to the monks makes her all the more suspicious. she also can't understand it when people think her ideals are wrong or go behind her back. she was brought up to believe that she can do no wrong.
Background: Enelim was the daughter of the couple that took Rowena in, and was always jealous of the girl. whilst others were frightened by Rowena's changing forms, Enelim was fascinated- and terribly envious. she could tell it meant that someone had favoured Rowena, and granted her this gift. she felt left out and bitterly resented Rowena, bullying her and being spiteful towards her and eventually managing to get her thrown out of the household. she never found out what happened to her (until this roleplay… dundundun!)
when Enelim grew up she left the constricting and stifling lifestyle of the clan she was in and joined the monks- people who she thought would help her achieve her ideals and make the world a better place. instead, she found she disagreed with many of the monasteries policies, but was not allowed to leave. a few weeks later she was taken to see the master. she doesn't remember what happened but knows that she now understood the monks and devoted her life to them, doing whatever they say. the Great Monk had effectively brainwashed her into carrying out his orders. enelim was promoted quickly throughout the ranks of the monastery and becoming the personal assistant of The Great Monk. that was when she was given Pale Dragon, a mighty beast and companion. Pale Dragon cannot truly be controlled by anyone, and takes a neutral viewpoint to the evil doings of the monastery. The Great Monk sends Enelim out of field missions when people are against the monastery and need to be eliminated. in her latest mission (to destroy Violet and her gang) she determines that she needs to join up with The Council in order to achieve her task. things got confusing when she met Rowena, but Enelim is confident that with the help of The Council (which she fully intends to become a member of) nothing can stop the monastery achieving their goal.
Powers:
1. Enelim can speak to any creature in any language- though the creature may not be listening.
2. Enelim can control mist- including forming sentient creatures from it and forming it into weapons
3. Enelim CAN bring things back from death- but only at the cost of part of her own life and energy. she mainly uses it for extinct plants she needs for potions. if she wanted to do it for a human and stll survive, she would only be able to make that human a flickering half life- not what anyone would wish upon someone at all.

uh…. cause of…basically mum freaked out over the whole cutting thing and took me out of boarding school which the raf didn't like so it's taking a LONG time to get me into a new school so i might have to take year ten again which isn't the nicest thing in the world but i am actually working in a primary school at the moment DONE! *breathes*

well i help the kids with their learning (we mostly do maths, enlighs and loads of arty stuff) and i take them for reading groups, help them get changed for PE... a bit of everything really. i even get on with the autistic kid.well i did. i'm actually back at school now ^_^ (FINALLY!)

well i mean i had Rowena, who started off all shy but is growing in confidence (even if she knows she'll never be with the one who... well she doesn't even admit she loves him) and then i had Enelim, who kept trying to team up with Thorne.
Oh memories!! We need to roleplay again! And goodreads needs to get their act together and give us notifications!
