Cora winced. "Ouch!" That hurt.

Avery wandered through the strawberries, one long creamy sleeve pulled up over the bloody words on her arm. Her jaw was still slightly crooked, though she held the familiar mocking smile.
Jasmine sauntered round the endless expanse of strawberry plants, using her nature-magic to stimulate the growth and health of the plants.
Jasmine shook her bangs in front of the bump she had gotten from colliding with Peter, and hoping it covered the mark, she looked up. "Avery." Her eyes suggested the usual greeting--brooding and dark, but her tone held the slightest trace of concern.
"Nothing like you," Jasmine said quietly, looking over Avery. She wouldn't ask what happened, it wasn't any of her business. And after all, she knew what it felt like to be pressured.
She echoed her shrug, resuming to sprinkle her magic here and there. The two sources of magic they had--she and Avery--were used for purposes so different, it was ironic.
She plucked a rather large, plump berry, one that had received a good amount of care. Jasmine held it out to Avery, a ghost of a smile on her lips.
"No," she said, shaking her head and accidentally revealing a bump just a fainter shade of red than the strawberries themselves.
"I hit my head," Jasmine said slowly, being careful not to mention how. Though she would probably ask anyways.
She sighed as she reluctantly answered, "Another person."
"Yep, I lost control of my nature-magic," Jasmine confessed with another sigh. "Again."
"It's usually not that bad," she said, shrugging as she gave a wilting plant a little umph.
((umph. xD))Avery fell silent, again acting uncharacteristically. Small pricks of blood peeked from her arm and her stomach, though she acted as if they weren't there.
Jasmine kept silent and worked until she was drained of most of her energy. Her nature-magic didn't need a lot of effort, but when used for a long time, it was tiring.
((nyehhh paradox. >.< Tooooodles.))Avery shook out her hair. "Well, have fun and try not to run into too many more people. I've gotta head off. If I don't see you before, have a good year." With a warm smile Avery waved and sauntered off to the forest.
((Baisers~))
Jasmine watched her go with a bitter smile. She was going to be here all year.
The Iris message had happened today, and her father very clearly showed that he wanted nothing to do with her this year. And she was perfectly OK with that. Why be somewhere no one wants you? Harbouring this thought that made her feel hollow inside, Jasmine walked off toward camp.

Mallory was walking through the fields, a basket on one arm as she inspected the remaining strawberries.
Maren walked up slowly. A brand new shirt had been put on, hiding the bloody words on her back. She had long jeans, hiding the ones on her legs too, and a jacket for her arms.
Mallory saw her little friend, Maren walking toward her. " Hey, Maren!" She called out cheerfully, waving.
Mallory grinned at her lisp. "What's up?" She asked, oblivious to the wounds underneath the girl's clothes.
"You sure? You look pretty down about something." Mallory informed, plucking a ripe strawberry and dropping it in the basket.
((^~^))"Momma thayth It'th not thafe. If I want to go outthide thee maketh me go out with a butlew."
"That's awful, Maren! Glad you're here then, huh? That way you van go wherever you want!" Her face was bright and smiling, and she plucked a couple strawberries.
Mallory noticed the smile, and frowned at her. "Are you SURE you're ok, Maren? You don't look sure."
