Strawberry Fields
Hayley wandered around the fields, picking off the occasional strawberry when she grew hungry. "Da-da-da-dooo, re, mi." Her voice carried over the fields, along with the harp strings she struck with her fingers. The tune needs to be perfect, she reminded herself, chewing on a plump berry.
Lilac waltzed into the fields, her colorfully braided black hair swirling in the breeze. She trailed her hands along the strawberries, and flowers bloomed beneath her feet.
((Dum-dum-dum...))
Miles was sitting down near the edge of the strawberry fields, picking a few and placing them in a little green basket you could easily buy at farmer's markets.
Hehe, Miles thought happily to himself as he put a last strawberry that seemed to be attached with others. Last one, time to go. Miles thought as he got up and bent over to collect his precious strawberrys'. He straightened up and nearly hit into a girl about his age, strumming her harp.
Hmph, Miles said as he regarded her, an angry breath escaping from his mouth. Can't she see where she's going? Miles opened his mouth to say a stinging reply, but however stopped himself. Her music really was good. Damn daughter of Apollo, Miles guessed.
"Hi," he said, at the girl. "Sorry 'bout that." Miles apologized.

((LOL, I love Miles. xD))
Hayley frowned, brow slashing down in annoyance. Oh boy. "You should be, can't you see where you're going?" Unfortunately for Miles, she didn't really care to hold back her rude words. "Honestly, it's not that difficult."

((XD))
Miles let fury take over him, and the beautiful music was long forgotten. "Excuse me?" Miles coughed, his brows pressed together. "I just get up, and I get hit."

"It's not my fault you didn't see me coming," Hayley replied with an almost nonchalant roll of the eyes. "And if you didn't see me, you would've heard me coming. Again, not my fault." She subconsciously plucked the strings again for a melancholy sound, and the light around her seem to glow a little brighter.
Miles rolled his eyes. "Whatever," he decided. Miles stepped aside, however much he didn't want to and let her pass.
"Ohohoho," Hayley began, letting the word come out in huffs. "You do not say 'whatever' to Hayley Tress, pal." She pointed a slender finger at his chest, narrowing her eyes to green slits. "Got it?" From her shoulder a long, dark-furred ferret emerged to growl half-heartedly at Miles, as if he'd just woken up.
Miles smirked at Hayley and shook his head. "Not exactly, Hayley Tress," He pronounced the name with a hundred percent dislike. Miles tapped Hayley's finger and it fell. "Whatever." He said again, stepping aside her and walking away, hugging his strawberries to his chest.
Hayley looked like she wanted to throw her harp at him, and she did, but it was much too valuable to be damaged in such a way. So she kept it with her. "Hey!" she protested, soon falling into step with him.
((Wait so did she? If she did:))
Miles easily swatted the harp away. "I wouldn't suggest you to do that," He told her, a smile flickering on his face.
((If she didnt:))
Miles turned around and folded his arms across his chest. "What?" he said, sounding bored.

"Who are you?" Hayley asked, curiously enveloping her annoyance. He looked familiar, in a vauge way. "I think we've met," she stated, rather bluntly.

((okay))
"Miles, son of Hecate, age 12," Miles said automatically. "And, no, we haven't met, Hayley Tress, daughter of Apollo."

"Miles!" Hayley recalled with a nod. "We have met, at the Dionysus party thing. How've you been?" she asked, all traces of earlier annoyance gone.
"Ahh, right, of course! Silly me!" Miles waved his hand and rudeness away and greeted Hayley like she was an old friend. "I'm good, thanks, you?"
"Good, thanks," Haylye replied brightly, giving the basket of berries that he carried a hungry glance. "Strawberry collecting duty?" she guessed.
Miles nodded. "Yeah," He said, showing her his basket. "this is my sixth." He said proudly.
"No way!" Hayley exclaimed in awe, more of the fact that he'd collected six, probably heaping, baskets of her most favourite food on earth. "So, you're counselor of your cabin, then? That must be cool."
"There aren't many Hecate kids," Hayley continued, plucking a strawberry from the nearest plant and popping it into her mouth. "There are lots of Apollo kids, its always full of people."
"You remember Jink, right?" Hayley asked, quickly changing the subject and gesturing with a nod to her ferret.
Miles nodded, and picked up Jink. "I onlt met her briefly, though."
"Him," Hayley corrected, brows knit in slight concern as she watched. Jink squirmed a bit in his hands, but gave up the 'fight' and stopped.
Miles softly but firmly began to pet Jink between the ears and went down her back.
((Wth? xD))
Jink let out a purr-like growl, an odd sound. Hayley giggled, "I think he likes you."

((I know, but it was...just there. In caps. xD))
Miles grinned. "Its hard not to." He picked up the little scrap of fur and gave it a kiss between its ears.
"Right," Hayley said with a playful roll of the eyes. Jink blinked and returned the gesture by giving Miles' nose a lick.
Miles laughed and wiped the salive of his nose. He cradled Jink like he was a little baby.
Hayley giggled, strumming the beginnings of a lullaby on her harp. "Hush, little ferret, don't squeak a word, Hayley's gonna catch you a mocking bird. And if that mocking bird taste bad, little Jinky's gonna get real mad."
"Nice song," Miles mused as he watched Jink close his eyes.
Scarlet walked the fields and laughed as she remembered there was a Beatles song called “Strawberry Fields”.
"Horrid improv," Hayley said, wrinkling her nose at the almost compliment. "Sleep little Jinky, close your eyes, when you wake in the night then play with the fireflies." Desipte the horrible rhymes, the ferret was curled up and sound asleep in seconds.
Miles handed Haley back Jink. "Anyway," he said sounding almost happy. "I should get going." He nodded to the strawberries. "See ya around, Hayley." And without waiting for her to reply, he turned and walked to the big house.
Hayley waved at the boy's retreating back and picked her way toward the Apollo cabin. "Time to get ready for capture the flag."
Ashland walked around the strawberry plants looking around. She was surprised that all of the strawberries were plump. She picked one just for a taste. Juicy and sweet, Ashland was starting to like this camp.
Morgiana walked around the fields looking for the best strawberry to pick. She plucked a giant red one and noticed someone near her. She walked over. "Hi" she said to the stranger.
"Hi," Ashland said not knowing what to say.

Selena walked up with a basket and carefully found a spot to sit down and began to pick strawberries. She took a careful look around at everyone and began to pluck again.
