Andrea Jackson (paperbackdiva) I'm repeating this from another thread in hopes of getting more feedback.
Now that it looks pretty certain that a movie will be coming out, do you think they will move the setting to the US? I really don't want that! However, many books-to-movies tend to be 'Americanized'. I'm hoping that since the basis of the story is Irish mythology they won't be able to twist it enough without ruining it. I suppose there's hope since the Harry Potter franchise stayed in England. It made hot stars out of several British actors. I hope Fever can do the same for some yummy Irish man candy.

I think Elisha Cuthbert would be a really good Mac.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) I think you're right.

Good call!

Ianbrie | 1 comments I think it should be an HBO series to get the full effect.

it seems like it would work so much better as a tv series. But no HBO, please. I honestly think they suck in the paranormal department.

Kind of like the Tudors. Love that series! Only thing is I don't get Starz or HBO or anything like that. Would hate to have to subscribe just for that. Maybe Netflikz?

message 108: by toofondofbooks (new)

toofondofbooks I like True Blood, but I feel like it is a completely different series than the books. As long as I tell myself Sookie (Anna Paquin)is different than Sookie (Charlaine Harris's brain), etc for all characters and plot developments, I can enjoy the series. Soooo, with that same logic, I'm glad the Fever series are going to be made into movies and not a tv series. I feel like the integrity of the story will be preserved better than if the writers are trying to figure out how to 'shock' us every week, kwim?

That's funny b/c I feel like HBO does a horrible job with True Blood that everything looks so fake. I couldn't even watch it b/c of that.

message 110: by True Love Forever (new)

True Love Forever (trueloveforever) | 329 comments Game of Thrones has been done very well and I think they could do the same for the Fever series. Game of Thrones reminds me of Lord of the Rings a little bit. True blood feels a little cheesey to me.

The author of the Harry Potter series insisted that the actors be English.

I'm hoping they keep it Irish as well.

bookster | 1 comments wow good call with Elisha Cuthbert as Mac, she DOES seem kind of Macish!!

message 114: by Isabella (new)

Isabella (livbet) | 19 comments They moved the setting of PS I Love You, and the best bits were the scenes in Ireland. I don't think it would work if any other setting.

message 115: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Jackson (paperbackdiva) How 'bout Katherine Heigl for Mac? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001337/

Goge (BARRONS) le Moning Maniac, | 78 comments Regretfully, I must say that I don't feel the same enthusiasm as everyone. In fact, it's a big fat f*Cking NO I feel. No, I hope beyond hope there won't be a movie about this series. I don't understand the need to turn a mother effin greatass kickbutt series or book into a movie that'll just suck monkey balls and create controversy and a possible drop in fans. Turning a book into a movie. What the BEEP gives that that's what people push books to be? That's not the highest a book can go. In my personal opinion, movies fail to books, always. A movie of this series will just fail expectations, not that they're high anyway and they'll etch into your mind the faces of people/actors you've seen onscreen elsewhere. I prefer the images I've drawn up in my mind instead and I don't want to feel disgust about anything related to Barrons or the Fever world and a movie made about this series will no doubt nauseate me.

Savannah (skyswriting) | 15 comments I've been wishing it to be a series for sooooo long, especially on HBO, Sho, or some other network that isn't shy about nude and inappropriate content lol. Having only a few movies wouldn't do it for me, I need Fever weekly! Especially with Dexter ending soon, I need a new favorite show. *pout*

message 118: by Savannah (new)

Savannah (skyswriting) | 15 comments Oh, and I totally agree with David Gandy as JZB.

message 119: by Laura (new)

Laura (highlandhussy) | 12 comments I think I'd prefer a sho or hbo show rather than a movie too.

message 120: by Paganalexandria (last edited Oct 21, 2013 10:52AM) (new)

Paganalexandria | 26 comments I don't want a movie but love the idea of a HBO series. I really don't like the Sookie Stackhouse books but love True Blood. I would love to know what Alan Ball could do with a much better original source. Especially with the next season of True Blood being it's last.

message 121: by Laura (new)

Laura (highlandhussy) | 12 comments Is there any news about this yet?

message 122: by Sarah-Jane (new)

Sarah-Jane (thebooklife) | 14 comments I think Fever would make an incredible tv series, more so than a film :) especially by HBO!

message 123: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 1254 comments I agree Sarah-jane.

message 124: by Mark (new)

Mark (mark_n) | 1 comments Samantha wrote: "I agree Sarah-jane."

I second Samantha's comment to Sarah-Jane. It would be an awesome series especially if HBO produced it.

message 125: by Sarah-Jane (new)

Sarah-Jane (thebooklife) | 14 comments HBO have a tone that would really compliment a series like fever. In my head I can see changes they would make i.e Dani would probably be introduced sooner, Fio would be a bigger character etc simply because TV shows need a bit more of an ensemble cast than a book. V'Lane would probably pop up earlier, etc. That being said, what HBO does so brilliantly is immerse themselves in the graphic stuff, in whatever way possible. They welcome it rather than shy away from it - you only need to look at Game of Thrones or True Blood to see it.

I hope it happens one day, we shall see!

message 126: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 1254 comments I don't know think would change too much. HBO is pretty good like that. I would be more worried with casting.

message 127: by Sharmila (new)

Sharmila | 118 comments I agree with all about HBO. Like Samantha said their pretty good with keeping it true. I mean even with True blood was pretty good. Casting would be hard.

message 128: by Isabella (new)

Isabella (livbet) | 19 comments If done correctly, a film series could succeed where Mortal Instruments seems, sadly, to have failed.

message 129: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 1254 comments I didn't go see Mortal Instruments.

Casting is key and these Hollywood folks need to figure what would be good...movie or tv.

message 130: by Sharmila (new)

Sharmila | 118 comments The casting wasn't all that. Maybe that's why the movie didn't do to well. Us readers are hard to please. Sad because I liked the Mortal Instruments books but the movie did nothing for me.

message 131: by Isabella (new)

Isabella (livbet) | 19 comments I don't think Jace was portrayed well at all in the Mortal Instruments movie. Simon was undoubtedly the most charismatic, and I don't think that's what they would have wanted.

message 132: by Sarah-Jane (new)

Sarah-Jane (thebooklife) | 14 comments I actually really really liked Jamie's portrayal of Jace in the books - but I know I am in a minority there! :)

message 133: by Savannah (last edited Jan 07, 2014 06:12PM) (new)

Savannah (skyswriting) | 15 comments I always thought Teresa Palmer would be a great Mac if we could get an HBO series for Fever.

I have my sights and desires set on many JZB's and Ryo though, but probably more unlikely that they would want to quit their modeling jobs lolol.

message 134: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 1254 comments She seems like a good choice.
