Okay, who else can't wait for the NaNo site to clear out from last year so we can all put up our new novel info? :P
Oh I am so ready to have the forums cleared out. I keep looking back at the same postings over and over hoping to see something new and it's just not happening. The fresh, clean, pristine forums being dirtied by all kinds of new posts is always a lot of fun.And thanks to all of you who are friending me there and here. I'm really hoping to be a winner this year!!

Yes! We can all be winners! I hope that i can win this year... I have the past two years, but this time around might be different. I'll probably have internal assessments going on or something like that.
But at least I won't have a 15 minute speech to worry about in the first week of november... I'm getting that over with next week!

That's good. Hehe. I have Footloose to perform during the second week (which, I hear, is the hardest), as well as my brother coming home from France after two years. I'm planning on writing backstage during the play and bringing my notebook to the airport. XD

Yeah, I have basketball in November... that's going to be fun. Not like I can write during the games... unless I write while I'm sitting on the bench. Hmmm. That might actually work.
I will probably be filling out tons of college apps in November. Joy!
My play ends on October 30. So I'll have loads of extra free time that I normally wouldn't know what to do with. :-) Which makes me very, very, happy.
I'm just hoping that my muse was decide to reappear...she/he took a vacation after last years nano and hasn't made their presence known again yet

This is my first year participating in NaNoWriMo. I’m excited, but nervous. I think it will be a great challenge, and will get me out of my comfort zone. I tend to edit as I write, which I know I shouldn’t do, but I can’t be helped :P. I’m a perfectionist.

Hello! I believe this is my second time attempting NaNo. The first time I failed spectacularly. Here's hoping I do better this year! LOL.

I did NaNo last year and, surprisingly, I won! I'm SO looking forward to doing it again this year!!!
Is it just me or does the line, "NaNoWriMo has yet to begin" radiate torture?

Thanks, Madeline! I figure it's worth another shot. At the suggestion of an author in another community I'm in, this time I'm going to try to set word count goals and give myself consequences if I fail. Maybe that'll give me the extra motivation I need. LOL. Good luck to you, too!
You could also give yourself little rewards for meeting your goal. Positive reinforcement. That's what I'm planning to do.
Conequences for not writing...this reminds me of last year's pep talks, when we're "picked on" (if you will) for setting up "rewards" for ourselves.
I respond better to positive reinforcement. Besides, if I plan to punish myself for not meeting my goal, I'll be likely to renege on it anyway :P. I guess just do whatever works for you. If the threat of punishment pushes you to meet your goal, go for it. As for me, I think I’ll just be looking forward to my cookie :P.
ohmygoshh that reminds me!! i might be the only one dorkishly excited about it but still... Lemony Snicket is giving us a pep-talk!!!!! :D im so looking forward to that!!!word count goals are easy and basically set for you (1667 words a day i believe) and the consequence is that you fall behind and in the long run poiivly dont make 50,000. but what sort of rewards would u give yourself?

I haven't read them either. I've heard good things about them, so I'll give them a try at some point, but right now my reading card is full.
