Lucky you! No Kindle Fire for us here in Europe yet.

Journey into the Whirlwind
In Pale Battalions
The House by the Dvina: A Russian Childhood

I am getting nostalgic Judy !!

ETA It was not the plot that engaged me really, but how I felt for Marco and the Rat. I was in their shoes. When they were hurt, I was hurt. When they were happy, I was too. The author made me, a child, feel complete empathy for these two fictional characters.
I wonder if I would love it so much now, but for me then it was one of the best books ever written. That is why I have given it 5 stars.

I'm sure my bank is fearing for my wellbeing!

The House by the Dvina: A Russian Childhoodas you really seem to have loved it. Will keep you posted !!

I have forgiven Oscar.

Prices are very inexpensive.

I have forgiven Oscar." LoL ! Thats one cute dog Chrissie.

You got a couple I was thinking of and decided to wait on --Out Stealing Horses, Brideshead, Olive Kitteridge. I didn't see The Forger's Spell and I have Dr Z and Septembers of Shiraz. I read The Magus a long time ago. Nice choices Anne.

Thank you, Sue.

That's right. I have a few friends still going through their thousands of books.

While you're typing it would be so easy for you to click over to the sale.

Okay, we won't tease you anymore.
I wish I could but I set a budget for today. Maybe I'll go back for their day after Christmas sale---they must have one of those."
Probably.

You may tease....I definitely deserve it.

Well I hope it arrives soon for you, I favour stalking the postman until they arrive, it seems to speed things along (or it might just distract me enough that it doesn't seem so long, either way it works)!
