Emily Williams | 7 comments I just bought a book for my dad for father's day - Fatal Incident by Jim Proebstle (http://fatalincident.com).

I've read it before, but I don't own a copy. It's a WWII novel about a 1944 plane crash that happened in Alaska. The actual story is pretty unknown, but the author does a good job of making it realistic and exciting at the same time. My dad's a huge history buff, and there aren't many books out there about this specific incident, so hopefully he hasn't read a lot about it!

For sure! In the last 2 or 3 months I've amassed about 170 books, for the Nook and some in paper form. RIDICULOUS. My problem now is deciding what to read next!

Karendenice Sandy, I just love Julia Spencer-Fleming's series. It's great and I really hope that you enjoy it as much as I did. As a matter of fact I'm going to try soon to start re-reading all of them.

message 112: by Sandy (new)

Sandy H (sandyquiltz) Wow, Karendenice. Reading something twice is a definite recommendation! OK, I'll bump it up on my list. I somehow got involved in the second Marie Bostwick book after I finished Moloka'i , but will probably finish that in another couple of days. I'll read the Spencer-Fleming book next.

I'm really excited about this book. There were two reasons why I chose it. One is that I love owls! We seem to have a connection.

The second is that friends of mine in Florida have acquired a screech owl. Liz has worked with animal rescue for many years and thought she had retired until a tree limber brought her a baby owl in March. They've named him Timber. Every now and again they post vidoes of him on Facebook. There are similarities between Timber and Wesley.

message 143: by Chrissie (last edited Jul 07, 2011 08:54AM) (new)

Chrissie Janice, can you read the book right away? You will adore it! I am sure. Did you find my review? I will put the link in if you need help.

Wait until you meet Wesley. He loves playing in the bath.

message 144: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60012 comments The book has been shipped. Just how long it sits in Customs or gets delivered by Canada Post is the big question. The postal workers have been back to work for a week after a strike which was ended by the government by back-to-work legisilation. Things are moving very slowly.

Yes, I read your review. It made me even more excited to read the book.

Timber loves the bath too. I enjoyed watching a recent video where Liz had put some water in the bottom of the sink and he played with abandon.

Love Love Love Owls! :)

message 145: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie Janice, I like owls but not near houses. In Sweden they have decided to sit on the beams above the porch and poop and/or throw up. It is disgusting to clean up.
