1. Change the authors of book 2 to the same as book 1 (using 'edit details' link2. Go to 'Malika Bourne' author page, choose 'combine editions' link
3. Checkmark the two editions and press 'combine'
Hi, Bert! There are a few things to do here. First, on the second edition you've linked to, the authors are entered incorrectly: they should each be on separate lines.
Second, make sure that the same author is listed as the primary author (in the first author slot) for each book.
Third, in the "other editions" side box from either book, click "combine editions" and you'll see both editions available to combine (this is what marks them as editions of the same book).
Does that make sense?
OK, I got them combined. Thanks for the help, Kaion and Cait! I have a question though. When we search for "secrets of the unwritten book", the older cover (Blue) comes up as the search result. Since it was only distributed for ARC and the new version is the one that will be more broadly distributed, is there a way to make the newer one (Black cover) show with the search results? Both show on the author's page, which is cool.
Thanks again!
Search results show the more popular (i.e., more shelved/rated/reviewed) edition. As people add the new one, it will become more popular and show up instead.

Fairly new librarian and have done most of my stuff with covers and fixing typos, adding author photos from their websites, etc.
However, I need to relate two books as being different editions of the same book. They are:
The Secrets of the Unwritten Book: The Fate of a Planet
and
The Secrets of the Unwritten Book: The Fate Of The Golden Heart
The latter is the newer edition, with a new publisher and ISBN. I've been working with the author on getting the covers put in, details, etc. I just need to show them as being related editions of the same book.
I know someone can just fix it, but I would like to know how.
Thanks!
Bert
