To Splurge or Not To Splurge
I hav shelves that are titled "available ePub" etc to help me keep track. Or "requested ePub from library". Also it is only $15 a year for non residents to join Philadelphia's library system so you should see if that works for you! I have a kindle and a nook. I prefer my kindle but LOVE the library option.

I am in MA. I get a library card for free but I have to go and apply in person because I need to show state ID. I haven't been to a library in so long and the one I used to go to isn't one that has ebooks because it isn't the main branch. I think I may even be able to borrow from other towns and cities that are affiliated with my city's library. :)
Yup! I didn't know where you are located so I didn't suggest that, but I live in a 'burb of Chicago, so I belong to my suburban overdrive system, Chicago's overdrive system -- and then Philadephia's too. ;) I find that they all have different selections, so the overlap is nice.

No,no AV, I meant if my head wasn't in a book I was on the computer and therefore neglecting poor hubby. LOL. Luckily he's self sufficient and if he's feeling really neglected he doesn't hesitate to say so. LOL.

Awww! Sounds like a sweet man. I do love my books but my bf is very supportive. He is a reader too but not quite as much or as quickly as me since he works quite a bit.
Yay, AV! Enjoy your new toy! How sweet!Hope you heal quickly! Sorry to hear about your injuries. Rest, read and recoup. :)

Thank you so much for your kind words. I have been reading and relaxing a lot. The nurse called and said I have mild arthritis in my shoulder. I had an xray done. It seems odd to me they would find it all of a sudden, unless it was already there and the muscle injury aggravated it. I am going to be seeing specialists soon and maybe try to get a second opinion. Some friends have said it sounds like it could be bursitis.
Anywho... on the subject of books, I am going to try to get to the library soon to sign up for a library card. Hopefully I don't have any outstanding fees from my childhood... It has been years since I have been. Once I get a card I can get ebboks from the library. I want to get one soon since some books have crazy log waiting lists LOL.
Also I went free book crazy on the Sony Store. I got a bunch of romance, YA, PNR and even a few erotica *blushes* and quite a few classics. Between all the freebies, NetGalley, Kindle and paper books I already have... I have years of reading material. I know that won't stop me from buying more... but it may slow the buying. I have at least 4 I really want but some aren't out yet...

You're welcome, AV. Wishing you a speedy recovery and hope the arthritis eases up.

Thanks again. :)
The first place I go when I walk into a store is the book section. It's a compulsion, even when I know I shouldn't be spending any more money on books. So I went shopping Saturday and Wal-Mart had all 5 of these for $3.99! I had to get them, the series is on my list of ones to try out this year. And you can't pass up a deal like that can you?
Wow! That's a deal!Buddy read! :D I need to get goin' on that series. If you pick up #1 (2 - A Hunger Like No Other), let me know and I'll try to read along w/ya.
Oh same! :D That's a series that I'm planning to get through this year so it really should go onto the 'Better Late, Than Never' challenge... except I keep adding new series to the list and never reading the original ones... oh well! Green with envy that you have all the books on hand at such a bargain- I'm having to get my hunting gear on and pounce on the ones at the libraries... maybe I'll treat myself... ;)

When are you reading this? I had planned to read it this month but could do a buddy read too. :)

[bookcover:C..."You have some great titles there. Comfort Food in the middle of all that paranormal cracks me up. ;)
Lol, I know, it's the odd one out. I read so many raving reviews about it, I just had to finally pick it up.
I didn't think it was a feel good book, but it is good. Strong characters. Makes you think. I'd definitely sandwich it in all those others to give you some equilibrium.
Regina, I could probably get it in this month, if you'd like to read together. Just say when. I'm hoping to finish TSotG tonite or tomorrow. And have only 1 Feb challenge read left.
Steph & ReginaI want to reread
first, since I don't remember anything about it. It was originally released in the anthology Playing Easy to Get, but its available as a free download at the moment. I'm planning on starting this sometime in March.
Thank you SOO much. I've read them all but the most recent and that one. (I am on a book buying ban until I clear out my shelves. I am bad about buying and not reading. Really. Really. Bad.

Its only 113 pages so it won't take long to read.
OK I haven't been on here lately as I didn't want to scare anyone away. LOL. Books bought since December but not preorders or ebooks -
I should probably re-read The Warlord Wants Forever too. I read it 1/2010 and just barely remember the gist of the world/characters/etc. I'd be up for reading the next one A Hunger Like No Other in March, if ya'll are.
Sandra wrote: "OK I haven't been on here lately as I didn't want to scare anyone away. LOL. Books bought since December but not preorders or ebooks...":D Great list! I have some of those TBR also and see some of my faves mixed in there. YAY!
@ Sandra and Regina: Silent Blade was the first one read and I really enjoyed it as well. I might be biased though, as I just love every Ilona Andrews offering.Very dangerous indeed Regina, and this 1-click-shopping isn't helping my addiction in the least, lol!
Steph wrote: "I keep forgetting about Silent Blade. Moving to my "get to it some day" list. LOL!"Steph, at 42 pgs its a fairly quick read.
Thanks Kerstin, I'm hoping to enjoy them all :)
On pins and needles waiting for the following to show up on my doorstep. Where oh where is that mailman?

Steph wrote: "I'm hoping to start Ashley's series soon. Glad to see so many are liking it enough to grab #2. :)"I read #1 last week. Her racist world fascinated me. Those poor shifters.
Amazon decided to save some dough and sent
and
in the same package to despite ordering them separately. They've never done that before.
I've had that happen 2 or 3 times over the past 18 mths, but with the amt of bks I've ordered that's not very often considering.
I'm shaking my head in wonder because of what Borders did with my recent order:
and a fourth book which was not a March 1 release were all shipped from four separate warehouses. So they have 4 separate shipping bills of which I pay 0, since my order was over $25.00. Tracking says they are all supposed to appear at the same time tomorrow on my doorstep. No wonder they're having money problems!
This week I got:
I have already read Beastly! I am not loving the cover now that I read it though... I am sure some of you know why...
Also from the library I got:
in audio format and
in ebook because I remembered it being in someone's haul on YouTube and I couldn't remember why I wanted to read it but there it was as a new addition to the digital catalog calling to me. I was surprised no one beat me to it with either of those!

You are cheating on your computer with your ereader? Is that what you mean? What kind do you have. I am already falling for my Sony. I like the touch screen and how tiny it is. I am already making a list of library books to download. I need to go next week and get a library card. I noticed several books only have 1 or 2 ebook copies and have quite the wait on them! Oh well... I have so many to read I can wait on those.. The NetGalley and library support are great for the Sony. But I still love my Kindle. I love them for different reasons.
