Vivian wrote: "Hunger Games read along?? How bout soon, like January??"I can give it a try. I already have like... 6 or 7 books picked out for January challenges already. I can try to squeeze it in. If not than February. We could make the trilogy into a six month challenge? :) That could work. That gives people time to get/read them if they stumble across it late. Any takers? I can make it up now. :) I am getting to be as
ETA: Challenge/Read-along made. You can find it under "Pace yourself"
on the paperbacks - get your tissues ready! And joined THG read-along, very excited to get to this series!!

Oh I know. I seen the movie for "PS I love you" and I know that My Sister's Keeper is going to be sad. I don't know when I will get to them but they are nice to have. I have SO many books to read (paper and ebook) Yet I still buy more. I can't help it. The 4 came to a total of 6 dollars. Can't pass that up.
Thank goodness, I was starting to worry! And it hurts but I bought
haven't read it yet, but I've put it in a few challenges. Next one is in the mail, according to BD
Preorder coming early, gotta love that!
Nah, I knew it'd eventually make it's way here. :)Sorry. That stinks! Least ya got the 2nd early, that's always a very nice surprise! I'm looking forward to starting that series.
Steph I read
back in 2009 and really enjoyed it, the whole series is really very good. After reading the first book I had to go get the rest just because I was so addicted to find out what was going to happen. Hope you enjoy it!

Great purchases! I splurged, I bought a second ereader (Nook) to read library books but I was loving a book I had checked out from the library so much as an ebook that I bought it and the next one for my Kindle:
, then I imported from spain Game of Thrones for my husband. His first language is Spanish and he usually reads my books in English and it is not an issue, but I thought since the boook is 800 pages I would get it for him in his native language. I can't wait to discuss it with him. I was surprised I couldn't find it in Spanish in anywhere in the US.
That was nice of you, Regina. I'm sure he'd enjoy such a long book in his native language. I'm surprised it wasn't available in Spanish in the US too. Plenty Spanish-speaking citizens, you'd think they would. Enjoy your new toy!

That is a very interesting cover. Off to look for freebies too (not sure why I do, I have so many darned books to read!)
I will, AV. Not sure when I'll get to it, but I'll share my thoughts once I do. You can't really tell in the tiny shot, but the f in the title is bleeding.
LOL! I'm the same, Regina. Hubby is always asking, "Why are you looking for more books when you just got # already and haven't read them?" The only answer = Hi, My name is Stephanie, I'm a book addict. LOL! Good luck on the freebie hunt!
Steph it is a sickness! I am convinced. :) At least you are honest with your husband about it! That is probably a first step somewhere.
LMAO!! He has no idea the extent of it. But, there's really no hiding it entirely. Thank goodness for eBooks though. ;)
Definitely thank goodness for that! I used to have my books shipped to my office at work, but after awhile he noticed them building up in our library area. There definitely is no hiding it, eventually the hubbies will glance at the credit card bill.

*runs off to check own copy of book* OOOOOO I see it! Pretty cover... pretty cover :D
I just won my very first giveaway form GR it's
by Michelle Rowen I can't wait for it to come in the mail!!

@Regina LOL! Hard to hide them forever. Could be worse things though. @AV too cute. It is a pretty neat cover.
@Kat Congratulations! That's great. And what looks to be a good one too. Yay!

It would be a battle to get him to glance at a statement. As long as all the bills get paid in full every month and there's money in the account, he's cool.
Though he did notice the dining table resembling a mountain hill pass with all the books. And that doesn't count the ebooks, hehehe

There definitely is no h..."LOL. I am in charge of the finances too, but there have been random moments when he looks at a bill and asks, "What are all these Amazon charges?" And then that is the moment of truth. Also, now he has stated to read on my Kindle! Darnit. Kinda hard to hide my books from him there.
That is funny .... how long did it take him to notice the pile of books?
Regina wrote: That is funny .... how long did it take him to notice the pile of books? It's the table we only use if we have a lot of guests but walk past every day, so I'm sure he noticed, just didn't mention it. LOL.
But just before Christmas I had to clean it off - took me a couple of days and there were books everywhere.
Awesomevegan wrote: "I would have loved to see that table LOL."Sorry AV, didn't think to take a photo :(

Quite all right. :)
Went to visit my Mom at Christmas and her local Borders didn't make the yearly cut. They were only down to about 40% off everything so far, but they had lots of their bargain books for $1. Combine that with a $50 Gift Card I had and I really cleaned up. :D40% off buys:
$1 books:
Good ones, Daffodil. Many look familiar, some I recently purchased myself. If you want to buddy-read "The Disillusionists Trilogy" let me know. I've got those 2 as well and would like to read them soon. But, they have just been tossed in my Leaning Tower of TBRs with all the others. How are you liking "Vampire Memories" by Barb Hendee? See you bought #2, was that b/c it was only a buck or b/c you were on #2? Either way, hope you're enjoying it. I like that series, but the reviews cover the range.
I bought an ebook of
, the graphic novella that Amazon isn't sending me. Stupid small publisher and their limited editions. I pre-ordered that bugger too. Grumble, grumble.
Yeah, that's a ripoff. Pre-orders should be the first to be filled. Amazon shouldn't have allowed more pre-orders than they'd receive.
Agree absolutely. Even BD does it too. I've been left hanging a couple of times, had to wait for the 2nd printing. Not Happy!!!!
I wouldn't be either. Just STOP taking pre-orders if you can't fill them all?! Doesn't seem to hard to understand.
Hey Steph! I'm not sure when I'll get around to starting "The Disillusionists Trilogy". I have one of those leaning towers too! I have to confess, I only picked up the Hendee book because it was a buck. I thought I might be able to track down a copy of the first one somewhere, but if I can't I'm only out a dollar. LOL. I haven't even heard anything about this particular series.
No worries. I'm not sure when I'll get to it either. Just a thought. If you find yourself picking it up, let me know and I'll join ya. I figured that was the case. Seems to be a little known series. I happen to really like it. But, some friends did not. Maybe you can find #1 at the library.
Picked this up in a bargain bin for 4 dollars. In hardcover! :)
Ordered:
(in hardcover)On Kindle:
(I only need
to complete the set. I have all in paper and have been buying them on Kindle as well to preserve the very old copies of the books. Also my boyfriend is considering buying a Kindle and we can share books. :) He wants to read Narnia. )Also
for only 99 cents! (I didn't have enough gift card money for the last Narnia book LOL) I have heard good reviews for Portal. I also picked up some more freebies for Kindle.
