To Splurge or Not To Splurge
That's an impressive haul right there! I shouldn't visit this thread, makes me want to go out and buy more books (that I don't need).
LOL! I try to avoid this page when the piggy is thin. (bank ... piggy bank ;}) Yeah, I got a little outta hand, don't tell hubby. ;)

Yeah I am excited for XVI. I will see the Beastly movie soon I hope... even though I know like most movies based on books, I will pick it apart.
Nina Oberon's life is pretty normal: she hangs out with her best friend, Sandy, and their crew, goes to school, plays with her little sister, Dee. But Nina is 15. And like all girls she'll receive a Governing Council-ordered tattoo on her 16th birthday. XVI. Those three letters will be branded on her wrist, announcing to all the world—even the most predatory of men—that she is ready for sex. Considered easy prey by some, portrayed by the Media as sluts who ask for attacks, becoming a "sex-teen" is Nina's worst fear. That is, until right before her birthday, when Nina's mom is brutally attacked. With her dying breaths, she reveals to Nina a shocking truth about her past—one that destroys everything Nina thought she knew. Now, alone but for her sister, Nina must try to discover who she really is, all the while staying one step ahead of her mother's killer.
I usually do too, but this cover borderlines horror to me, and I'm a scaredy-cat, so seeing the cover before sleeping would give me nightmares, lol. This one would have to go on the kindle :)
LOL! Yeah, it'd be hard to avoid the cover otherwise. I can just picture you shying away from it in the bookstore. ;)
Can you imagine just a whole shelf of them staring at you??
ETA - maybe shouldna done that to myself, eeks!
Okay, I didn't even see it was a face on the cover. Haha..
So, my local Borders is closing, which is a damn shame, so of course I had to go see what I could
So now I just have to fill in the gaps. LOL.
Great haul! Did you get good discounts, Sandra? Out of all of those I want Demon Angel and Atlantis Rising-which has been on my Amazon wish list for about 5 years. I've been advised to stay away from Mercy Blade due to my disagreement with Jane over her mating decisions. Pretty sure Beast would side with me on that. Hmpf.
Well, it was 50% off, which sounds a lot, but really that just brought the cost down to BD prices or just below, but it meant I didn't have to wait for the mail man or dispose of all the packaging. LOL.I haven't tried Jane yet, so maybe I should read this third one before committing to buy the first 2. Thanks for the tip. No doubt, by the time I get to Demon Angel & Atlantis Rising you'll finally have them, but if not I'll have to let you know what I think.
That's great. No waiting, instant gratification! Definitely let me know what you think of those two. I have so many to read that I probably won't get to them this year.

I was even nice and picked this up for the man:
Here are some kindle freebies/purchases I've made recently:
I never know if these freebies are worth getting, so if anyone has read any...I'd love to hear more about them.
:)
Great gabs, Ashley. And don't play, you know you picked up that one for the man, to lessen the blow of your haul. LOL! J/K ;)I'm always grabbin' freebie eBooks, way more than I'll probably read, but ya just never know what will be the next great book!
I've got #1 of that series, Mary. Looking forward to starting it soon.

Haha...Totally! He's pretty used to it now. And since he's trying to get me to read that series; I'll probably end up reading it to!
:)
Love the list, Sandra. Some look familiar. :) Yay! Hey, how do you the New Orleans Vamp series? I spotted that recent release and thought about grabbing the series.
LOL, I hadn't realised it was a series yet. I think I've got another one of them too. Oh well, more books to buy. LOL. I'll let you know when I read it.
Steph wrote: "Daffodil, is that anthology story of Ava Gray's do to with her Skin series?"Pretty sure it is, title is "Skin & Bone". I haven't read it yet, what with the confusion of last week and trying desperately to concentrate on finishing my Bingo reads. Hey, maybe I'll get lucky and this anthology will be on the next bingo shelf.
I've been a member of this group since October 2010 & I just discovered this thread I got these from Amazon Marketplace earlier this month:
My library carries every book in the "Kitty Norville" series but book #2 & every book in the "Dante Valentine" series but book #1 (God, I hate that) so those were musts. And I threw in EiD because I love Gena Showalter. The price for all 3 books used? $12 & change. Not bad.
Oh my gosh that irks me! Not having book 1 but having all the rest! I have run into a few like that. It is annoying so I just read something else and check from time to time to see if they get the missing books.
LOL! I do the same, Awesomevegan. My library sucks. They carry a decent amount of books but almost zero erotica/erotic romances. And most ER's I read are trade paperback so I have to part with my beloved cash. *tear* My library is afraid of mantitties.

I remember back when I borrowed Jackson Rule or some other Dinah McCall book from the library. It had one of those double covers. Pretty, generic cover lifted up to show the "hero" in all his manly glory. Well not all, he had pants. The ladies at the check out desk, all friends, told me how delicious the guy on the inside cover was and showed me the xerox copy they'd made of it. Wonder what they'd do if one of those came across the desk. LOL. Hmmm, reminds me of the Diet Coke commercial with all the women lined up at office windows watching the construction workers on break.
I just found this thread....now I have a place to put down all my purchases....Hmmmm does this now mean I have a reason to buy more???Well I found a used bookstore in my area and these were what I got
Thats all I can remember...LOL....

I think the bit about the mantitties is funny though!
Yay, Zina! Psy series! Hope you enjoy them! Great picks, Lethal! I read Working for the Devil back in '09 and gave it 4★, but for some reason didn't continue on. Need to move #2 to my "don't forget about me" list. :)
I've heard rumors about it over the last month, but I've never actually seen one. I've even read accounts here at Goodreads about reported sightings. Then last night, it happened. My friend and I were driving down the road, stopped under some bright lights, walked through a passageway and there it was, blocking our way. It was only about 3 - 3.5 feet tall, blue with a round red circle right in the middle. I studied the symbols inscribed inside the red circle and tears of joy came to my eye as I interpreted them. I had finally found it, the $1.99 book box at Wal-Mart. LOL. I was happy to finally find one at our local WM, it wasn't there last week. I tried to control myself, but still walked out with a good haul.
You remember that episode of Friends where Rachel got an interview at Saks Fifth Avenue. And Phoebe commented, "Oh, it's like the mother ship is calling you home." That's how I felt last night.
I have never heard of this alleged book box ::looks skeptical:: Walmarts are slightly out of my way, but I'll have to take a look one day...
In the last few weeks, I've read about a couple other people finding them. They're pretty new, the one here was just put up in the last 5 days. There was a pretty good mix of books in there: PNR and UF, historical romances, westerns, horror, ... Hopefully, like the $5 DVD bin, it's here for the long haul.
Wow! $1.99 bin! Fantastic! Glad you were blessed by the book Gods and able to find the elusive bin. Looks like a good haul.

Will you go see the movie "Beastly", AV? I haven't read the book, but I'm wondering who it'll compare.
