Worldmapper Maps...

NPR has an awesome story on worldmapper maps, an organization that creates maps and animations "re-sized on each map according to interest." Very cool. Here's the NPR story:

i'm not sure what i think about this. it sort of skews your brain after being drilled with how a map has looked for so long

The shapes are too bulbous and lumpy. It makes it impossible to know what country is what, without labels. Maybe if they had kept the borders roughly the same shape...
