how old is her daughter? I mean was this a child's mistake or a tween/teenager mistake? cause if she's older, than it's even MORE funny!

Come to India. I am just starting to wear sweaters.. and they're more like the stuff I used to wear in Fall.. not actual winter stuff. I guess we all want what we cannot have. Right now its more of a "it could not have been that cold." But I know that it was, and is for you guys :)

Gin LOL so glad it worked out - never heard that one before!I had to take my daughter to casualty (ER)because she stuffed a raison up her nose and couldn't get it out.

@Gin I'm very glad to hear that you're daughter is okay. But, wow, that takes some serious skills. It's impressive! When my sister and I were little we had to take her to the hospital because she ate my diary keys. Yes, you read that correctly. The hospital staff was fascinated with the x-rays.
I like cold weather when I can watch it from the warmth inside!
I didn't do anything crazy when I was a kid, though my sister did kick the dentist in the face when she was about six. She's always had a phobia about dentists.
My family has a lot of crazy stories. Interesting things happen to my sister and I. Also...two arrow keys on my computer just died. Urgh. Oh well, I go home in a few days!
LOL - Claire, your sister sounds as bad as mine! ;DShe was (and to a large extent-remains) an accident just waiting to happen. (A gene passed on to my youngest daughter.)
My sister was around 5 or 6 when she swallowed a safety pin.... and then insisted the Doctor give her the x-rays, cos they were hers.
Our Family doc built his practice right across from our house... give you an idea of how often my mother was over there with the pint size.... LOL

It infuriates me when web companies decide to do things on your behalf. But, then, it all comes back to that saying "If you're not paying for it, you're not the customer, you're the product." We shouldn't forget this.

You just need to constantly check your privacy settings and stuff. Sigh. To clarify, because I use this expression all the time, "riding the struggle bus" is when you're having a hard time doing a something that should be easy. For example, the other day my mother called me from home to complain about her cell phone charger not working. Turns out, she'd plugged the phone in, but didn't plug the charger into the wall. Hence, riding the struggle bus. One thing I hate about Facebook is that it automatically says "yes" to things and waits for you to realize and turn them off. I think it should be the other way around.

As for FB... I joined it because of my shelter dogs. It's a good way to find homes through sharing. But I don't necessarily use it to stay in touch with people. If I really want to do that I meet them, write an e-mail or letter etc. Yes, I sometimes still write letters. I'm so old-fashioned. LMAO
Don't get me started on the FB issue!! And I'm a hermit! I originally signed up because an actual friend invited me to... Now - I log in maybe twice a year to hit ignore all, or thank everyone for Birthday wishes...90% of my family would be at a TOTAL loss without it, and simply cannot understand the concept that some people just don't use it. (Even though you've told them this to their faces at LEAST 10 times.)
And my favorite is... sorry we haven't chatted in so long, but we've just been so BUSY! (And by busy, they mean constantly sitting on FB updating every ridiculous retarded thought that passes through their brains....)

@Claire: it's not made it down the southern end of the UK either. Not heard that one before.I'm not on Facebook either - I can't be bothered with the privacy settings. My husband is and I can see its an easy way to keep in touch.

This is so true.
I like facebook. I have lived all over the country so it allows me to keep in touch with people. But I hate all the bells and whistles . . . I wish it was more streamlined. Like it used to be.

I wasn't in to Facebook until I went away to school. Now it's a good way to keep in touch with people I don't get to see as often.
@Claire & Zeenat - Yep. Exactly. Once I started moving all over.. I needed a good way to stay in touch. I have an account on Google.. but everyone else is still on FB.. so can't leave yet. It'll take some time, meanwhile I check privacy settings often. :( but if they keep charging.. which they do (But I thought it was promoting a post, not just to even get it across to people) people will leave soon.

It is kind of similar to facebook.. except it has circles.. (like groups you can put people in) and then they'll only see what you want them to. Much better privacy control. Its good.. and comparable to facebook.. its just not great enough to cause a migration.
All you need is a gmail account. Well.. a google account I guess. You can use that damned thing for everything (including YouTube) these days. It allows you to add ppl from your email too.. and choose which circle to put them in. easy.

I rarely use Facebook. I only post pictures every few months for my family. We have family who live all over the place who rarely get to see my children. I actually added a second Facebook that is linked to my GR account. That particular email address is all my book stuff. It's where I follow authors on FB and various blogs and stuff. It helps keeping it all separate from my personal email, so I don't have to weed through so much to see important stuff.As for google, I have an account but i've only used it for the "hangouts". I've done that with some of my friends here on GR. A group of us did a bachelorette Passion Party that was lots of fun. We all brought our own beverage of choice. It was nice to put a face/voice to a name.
Having just perused threads in other groups, I have recently realized how lucky I am to talk with you all. Seriously, looking at posts on other author's threads had me wincing. Yay for being the smart fans!
Yeah, even when we're talking about who has the largest penis, we're still being smart about it! (You know, research and evidence and SCIENCE and we know it's Pritkin right!!):P
