Hope everyone is doing OK, sinus problems aside!
I'm moving into our new house at the moment which is a bit stressful and tomorrow we'll go visit our families in Germany.

My Mom had bronchitis and an awful stomach flu, so my easter visit wasn't as restful as I hoped. Still, it was great to spend time with family before finals start.
Congrats on the new house, Sarah!

Sorry I've been gone so long guys!
Hope the move went smoothly Sarah!

We got home yesterday morning and I am so tired--even though I did not drive at all. The charge for my wireless headphones lasted the entire trip both ways--after I charged it of course--which is so awesome I can't say how much so. Noise cancellation ftw~

(I maintain that deep down, every Texan yearns to live in Austin---or used to, before it got taken over and turned into a city. I used to spend a lot of time there. Mmmmmm, Austin.
SA used to be a great town, too. I spent two months working in there a few years ago but sadly had no time for fun.
Do ya'll have hummingbird feeders? Even if hummers are hard to see, you can hear them.

I live in Austria and people here are going crazy because of Conchita. Hahaha!
Sorry, I'm obviously not Duca. ;-)

I spent almost the whole day helping my mother in the garden, but I have all these research papers to read! It's a really great thing that this professor is letting me hang around in his lab this summer...but his research is SO BORING.

And yeah, it's really hard. The medicine they gave her isn't helping with the pain at all.

And yeah, she is doing better today but still having trouble getting around :(

Also, I'm jealous of everyone who is from Europe. I would give anything for a plane ticket to go there right now and I would never come back. I would visit every museum, cathedral, and castle ever build :)
Also, I hope your sister feels better soon Claire!

Living in Europe is nice, but I imagine it would be more fun on the continent. Ireland is nice and all but it's not as cool as say France or Italy. Then again I have an Itslian friend who lives Ireland because it's so green, so I think things you're not used to always look cooler. I'm going on Erasmus next year, so after I come back, I bet Ireland will seem amazing.

@Joscelin I have to say, going to school in DC is pretty great. It's a little surreal that the president drove by me while I was walking back from class.

I'm out on my bike on a cycle track, and there's a blind corner on the route. I slow down and get over to the left hand side (following UK road rules) and go round the corner ... only to come face to face with a little boy and his dad on their bikes, and the boy is right in front of me. I slammed on the brakes and swerved hard left to avoid him. Unfortunately it had been raining hard yesterday and the side of the path was muddy as hell and my semi-slick tyres couldn't handle it. I felt the back of the bike slip away from me and down I went!
I've got gravel rash on one hand and it's a bit swollen, and I seem to have taken a small chunk out of my knee, which I'm not going to think about too much!! Lots of blood everywhere.
However, no real damage done to me or bike, and it was pretty funny, because I was COVERED in mud!! The dad was upset and helped me up and commiserated, but I think the little boy got a fright, and I felt a little bad about that, but really people should keep to their own side of the track if they can't see what's coming round the corner (i.e. me probably going a bit too fast LOL)
I think I'm going to have some spectacular bruises to show off tomorrow! :D

Poor kid might have learned a valuable lesson at your cost. I wouldn't give him another thought. Just get ice everywhere ;)

Now, imagine all of those hallways and a building full of blind people (students and the workers there) all getting somewhere. You are supposed to tap tap, but some people just put their cane tips in the corner and went by fast and didn't think about stuff that could be on the floor.
Now when you have people like that (I did it all the time I admit) and the asshats are on the wrong side of the hallway and run into the person going the right way ... who is also blind ... and probably doing the same thing ... well you get it right?
Drove me nuts, I think I yelled at someone for that crap almost everyday. "Get on your own side" or something like that.

Llaph, yeah, I hear where you're coming from. It's simply common sense to stick to your side of the path when you can't see what's ahead, but common sense is sometimes in very short supply!

This has not been a fun week! The only upside is that I've had uninterrupted reading time.

Hope you get/got over it quickly. I have sinus/allergy issues that kick my ass lately and I hate sinus problems.
So, I ordered another set of blue tooth headphones for myself, the same exact pair that I also use just a different color, and some dog treats to try out on the dogs. I got them yesterday and totally mixed them up some how so I had to get a sighted person to tell me which headphones were which and which treats were the fish and sweet potato vs the other kind. They were from same maker, had same bag, and I couldn't smell the difference since my sniffer ain't that great. lol

Officially feeling motivated to write some fanfic. Will hopefully take my mind off my illness

So I found a deal on a 64 GB Kobo reader. It's really an Android tablet with lots of storage space but fewer bells and whistles.
I have so many Kindle books (mostly freebies) that I will run the Kindle app, too.
I'll report back on how it works out.
It was only $159 on eBay (Buy it now) for the 64 GB model, running Android 4.1.4, so it beat Kindle prices by far.
