@Llaph - No coffee??? I would totally die. My brain refuses to wake up until I have had my morning coffee... But you're not weird. I know lots of people who do not like coffee.

Coffee makes me happy. The weather here has been changing rapidly day to day and it's giving me some pretty bad headaches. It's hard to keep up with all my homework when my head hurts too much to keep my eyes open!

And yep, its giving me headaches too, though thankfully not awful ones.
Who do I send you to make you better? I know you like Pritkin.. but I would not want him around if I was sick.
A ball gag on casanova... Brilliant! Why hasn't Rosier thought of this yet? Of course now that what's her name has abandoned him... I think he'd be able to whine through the ball gag somehow!Claire, have you tried the foot in warm bath, cold compress on neck, trick?
@Arushi You're right, Pritkin probably wouldn't be the most comforting! I'd say Niko, but he might not be too sympathetic either. Then again, he could understand the ramifications of "migraine" and realize powering through isn't an option.@Zeenat I have no tried that, I didn't even know it was a trick
They actually taught me that in a prenantal yoga class, but the person said she has been doing it for headaches since college, so before she got pregnant. Something to do with blood flow or whatever...
@Zeenat - I remember we once spoke about Hindi movies.. and while I do remember that you do not speak Hindi - I don't remember if you watch them or not. If you do, and wanna give a romantic comedy a try - go for Hasee toh Phasee. It was really cute :)
Zeenat wrote: "They actually taught me that in a prenantal yoga class, but the person said she has been doing it for headaches since college, so before she got pregnant. Something to do with blood flow or whateve..."I'm not picky, as long as it works!

Have you made a snow angel yet Claire? Feeling jealous, we just have rain here (England) - luckily no serious flooding where I am but the ground is totally saturated. What's the weather like wherever you are?
We've had a pretty mild winter up here in the frozen north. The average temp in December was about 8-10c which is extraordinarily mild for that time of year. Jan & Feb have been a bit colder but not bad at all. However I don't think the wind has stopped blowing! No floods at all around here. I don't think it's been any wetter than usual. I feel so awful for the people who've been affected by the storms. It's an absolute nightmare.I'm consoling myself with the thought that in another month or so, the worst of it will be past. Hopefully.
The U.S. was hit with a rough winter, although I never saw any of it :P Whenever I was somewhere, It was snowing somewhere else... When I was in Chicago, it snowed in El Paso, when I was in D.C., it snowed in El Paso. I live in El Paso, and all winter long snowed everywhere else! LOL
When we drove to CA last December it snowed after we left central TX . then the El Paso area where we stayed a night....We have had a few days where it was 60-70, but it's been 30-40s. Which adds more wtf to the fact I have heard ice cream trucks a few times in the past two months.
So I'm home for President's Day Weekend and there was a huge blizzard this past week. There is about 3 feet of snow on the ground, and we got a few more inches yesterday! Check it out!

For reference, that wall back there is about 3 feet tall.
I spent over an hour yesterday on the roof in my pajamas first shoveling snow, then flinging ice boulders off the roof while my dad shoveled the powder. There were several feet on the flat roof over the living room, and we were worried it couldn't take the weight. This morning, I feel like an old woman, my back is so sore! That'll teach me to neglect proper squat form, even in a snowstorm.
Holy shit!! That looks horrendous. Because I live by the coast, we get hardly any snow here, for which I'm eternally grateful. Hope you're not suffering too badly, Claire. I think I'd be secretly wishing I'd stayed at college, rather than face that. :o
@Lannister I love snow, so I don't mind looking at it. The really, really sore back muscles today? Those, I could have done without. Ow, ow, ow. I need a massage! Where's Marco when you need him??
Next week is gonna have 70 days too~After I put flannel sheets on too . damn ADHD having weather....
Oh wow! I am glad that even though our weather is also PMS'ing, at least it does not snow! I love snow... but I am sure we desert ppl are not equipped to deal with cold. Still it does not feel like mid-Feb!!
Yeah, so, this week, we are having some 80 days. :(I should move to Canada or something, I like the cold ... but wait ... I don't like living in snow. It is only okay to visit....

I agree.. I love snow... just not all the work that comes with it.
Yeah, snow looks pretty when you look out the window, but as soon as you have to go out in it ... frigging nightmare! And what often happens round here when it does snow is that it starts to go slushy then immediately freezes. So now we have a skating rink! Gah!We haven't seen any snow this winter and, without wishing to tempt fate, I don't think we'll get any now.
I can't wait for the nights to get lighter so I can go out cycling. (I have no lights on my bike so need daylight.)
Well - NOT what I needed to find this morning!!(especially as I'm NOT a fan of ANY arachnids!)
Any typical of Murphy - my husband is at the office today!

Hat off to my youngest who held the ruler in place.
well, hubby is finally home...And the removal of the arachnid has been accomplished - with MUCH to-do.
In the words of Harry Dresden:
" I let out a battle cry. Sure, a lot of people might have mistaken it for a sudden yelp of unmanly fear, but trust me. It was a battle cry."
The spider was eventually over-powered by the odor of Applecider vinegar - after racing all over the ceiling & upper walls at my poor Knight in slightly tarnished armor and overall being a rather confrontational little shit - and conveniently toppled from his new hiding spot into the tub placed below him. Which was then hastily covered and removed outdoors.
Holy!!! that is a HUGE arachnid!!! Your kid is so so so very brave!!!I am glad its finally out of your house.. just thinking about it.. *shudders*
Me Too!I'm still slightly twitchy - and ever so careful every time I need to go through a doorway or move curtains!
Haven't seen a rain spider in YEARS!
Honestly could have gone a good many more too! LOL
As for T.J - Well, she joined in with the "screamed like a little girl and ran" crowd when it unfolded and took off up the cupboard. She decided she much preferred it when he could possibly have been dead. :)
I understand we have to share the planet and all - but I truly wish all the little beasties would remain OUTSIDE the house.
All things considered...I think I'd like some of Claire's Snow please!!!
Far fewer bugs when its winter!
Just all the snakes want in . Dad sprays around house so no fleas, bugs, or spiders. That is what I will continue to think....
:) ironically, don't mind snakes. Just anything with more than 4 legs. And unfortunately for me - most of the suggestions include spraying citronella. However I have 4 cats - and citronella is toxic to cats.
I did however discover I can also use Eucalyptus!
Will be making a trip to the incense store in the morning!
I was ref to rattlers lol--I live in Texas. When I was growing up in SoCal we had to deal with lizards and snakes which I didn't mind, but scared my mom big time.m
LOL - in my family, its the arachnids that freak us out. We're all reptile friendly (save for crocs - never much liked them - not even from afar). Respect the fact that most snakes can kill us pretty easily, but they don't make my skin wanna take off on its own.:PWe don't really see too many snakes about, If we do spot them, we can call out to have them collected (we have a few nasty ones) - sadly no such service for mutant spiders though. *wrinkles nose*
Lizards and Geckos are welcome - and often rescued from the cat. :)
It's so odd to me to imagine a house with lizards running around. They're firmly in the 'exotic pets' category round these parts. :)
We get plenty of these little guys passing through.
they range from 5cm to 12cm in length - actually quite cute.
We appreciate their visits as they reduce the mosquito population! (as well as smaller spiders) lol
I'm with Jax. we have plenty of lizards in my house too.. not so much in winter though there is one in my room even now. They're always welcome coz they eat things like spiders, and assorted bugs. I really really appreciate lizards in the rains when all sorts of nasty/gross bugs crawl out. We basically have a lot of empty land around my house so we get more insects than other people, but by now we're brave enough to smack them with a shoe to kill them. Mom just smacks a scorpion or a centipede like its no big deal!
I'm definitely with you on the squishing Arushi! My theory is that pesticides actually have an ingredient which attracts more bugs even while eliminating them, so that you'll buy more sprays.
You see A bug - you squash it - bye bye bug,
see A bug and spray it - and next you know, you have the beginning of an infestation!
Dad's shoes are favored for squishing - I feel bad for him, cos the girls always seem to have one of his shoes on hand - and then he can never find them. :D
