Moths.... I don't miss the mothras we used to have around our house, don't miss the little brown flying beetles that were drawn to light either.

Great now I feel all creepy crawly. :x

@ claire:
omg how did you know what I was thinking about?!

message 1603: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments I know I'm a genius. I need to get on an actual computer so I can post a picture of things

message 1604: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments It is kind of nice to know that things that always happened when you were a kid still happen.... One of those things being my dad going apoplectic when he opens the water bill, then promptly tells me and my mom we will have to shower using the buddy system from now on.
Oh that and 'the grass is on its own now'.
I love my dad, seriously. (even if he taped star trek over my rainbow brite movie when I was little.)

The mug looks nice, how is the vampire coffee? Is it good??
nice combination of colours...blue/blue ;)

message 1609: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments @maggie, I would put away and keep away the ones that matter to you. If it's a big problem, I would say something, just as a "well are you sure they are paying attention?" The others gave great advice too!

@Claire, Lucky! You and Arushi can now have coffee dates LOL!

I loved my week in Maryland. The weather was so humid though! But I love being in MD area. I feel like they are "my people" LOL ;)

Now I am in LA. the weather is cool here.

message 1610: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments @Arushi Thanks!!

@Missdevora I don't intentionally match...but it happens anyway. I haven't tried the coffee yet but I intend to tonight.

@Zeenat Why are you in LA?

message 1611: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments I am on a cross country time zone trip, just visiting family and friends. I started in Mountain time zone, which is where I live. Then visited MD for East coast time. Now I'm in LA for Pacific, then visiting a friend near fort hood/austin, tx which is central time zone. LOL!!

message 1612: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments Woohoo! Though the jet lag just be killing you.

As an aside, doing eagle crunches for 3 minutes straight HURTS. I can only hope to have my efforts repaid in my bikini this August.

message 1613: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments OMG the jet lag is killing me. I forgot how much East coast to west coast sucks. lol

what are eagle crunches? they sound like they hurt.

message 1614: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments Where you cross your arms and your legs and crunch together...kind of like rolling up into a ball. My abs hurt today.

message 1615: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments ouch.

message 1616: by Missdevora (new)

Missdevora | 2142 comments They say that in order to look pretty all the time one has to suffer...I'm positive you will look fabulous Claire!

I hope jet lag effect has passed a bit and you feel better, Zeenat.

Missdevora | 2142 comments I was randomly waching/listening to music on youtube and ended watching Ed Sheeran's song Drunk.

The cat in the video is hilarious, it's like your best friend...in a cute way.

message 1618: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments Hahah thanks for the vote of confidence!!

I have completely become invested in the world of this book I just read...so I really am not looking forward to having company tonight.

message 1619: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments I have heard horror stories about the things people do under the influence of ambien, driving and other wierd stuff....

Apparently I purchase ringtones and forget about it. I didn't know I had gotten the ringtone till I got the email reciept from the apple store. It reminded me to switch it, it has uber annoyance factor for my mom. I got the clip of stewie from family guy doing hi mom, mommy, mother, mama, and etc to use for my mom's ringtone. I told her no worries ... when it goes off you shouldn't be in the room to hear it.

I took it last night and bought a clip of ernie singing the rubber ducky song ... I am pretty sure I got that for my sister since rubber duckies are her thing.

message 1620: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments I hate Family Guy. I think the baby is creepy.

And when I have a bad migraine (I think as a result of my concussions) I have weird memory lapses. There are text messages I don't remember sending. It's bad when I'm out of the house because I'll just start to walk into the street without checking for traffic first.

message 1621: by Llaph (last edited Jun 09, 2013 06:25PM) (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments I can sympathize with that. There have been times where my sister has said I said something and I don't remember it at all. I figured it out it was more of a bratty younger sister annoyance sort of thing. When my mom with her questionable memory chimed in it didn't help me figure it out.
It mainly freaked me out at the time because we still don't really know what all was affected by my stroke besides my sight, smell, and some movement on my left side )fine motor skills with my right arm are laughable at times).
I doubt it ... but still am I doubting right?

It can be pretty damn scary.

On a side note it sucks when your mom and sister are both on a diet and you realllly want a milkshake from sonic. (they are half priced after 8 pm--I love the peanut butter fudge and banana one). I don't get the peanut butter and bacon one though ... really people order this I heard it while waiting on our order the last time. Or was it chocolate, I forget? Either way grody to the max....

message 1622: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments Ah yes, the Ambien Coma. If you don't fall asleep within the first 15 minutes you will stay awake but remember nothing of it. WEIRD!

message 1623: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments I'm not entirely sure what Ambien is. I suspect it's known under a different name in the UK.

message 1624: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments It is a type of sleeping pill.

message 1625: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments OK, thanks. I've never actually taken a sleeping pill so I'm not really familiar with the common ones.

message 1626: by Missdevora (new)

Missdevora | 2142 comments I normally read a book and bam! I'm asleep.

message 1627: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments The memory lapses are definitely worrisome. I just can't think clearly with a bad migraine, and the result is sometimes dangerous. I usually avoid driving.

message 1628: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments @ miss devora:
Lucky you! Sometimes I can't get my mind to shut up ...even if I take a sleeping pill. Probably why I do stupid stuff when I take ambien. I usually fight it. I get better results if I take a xanax to calm me down.
I stress a lot for some reason....

message 1629: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Happy Summer Solstice everyone! How many of you were up dancing naked round a tree at dawn this morning? Or was that just me?!
;)

message 1630: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments running + blind = not a good idea :P
Adding nekkid to the mix would prolly have gotten me commited....

message 1631: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments LOL, yeah, probably best just to sleep late! :)

We have Stonehenge here in the UK (ancient Druid stone circle) and there's always a big crowd go there for the Solstice and it makes the news every year (which is why it was on my mind).

message 1632: by Enjee, Founder (new)

Enjee | 1194 comments Mod
I wonder what Pritkin is doing for Solstice? Him being a Druid and all.

message 1633: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Yeah, I wonder that too. Maybe Pritkin hung out at Stonehenge in his youth. It's not all that far from the southern parts of Wales. :)

Let's take a moment to think about a hopefully naked Pritkin dancing around the monument...

message 1634: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments LOL doubt he notices solstice down in hell. The climate is always hot and bleak lol!

message 1635: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Ah, but I was thinking of before he went to hell, in the 6th century. :)

But yeah, somehow celebrations and holidays don't quite fit with my impressions of hell. Although Rosier probably likes a good party, so you never know!

message 1636: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments I can totally see Rosier in a christmas elf hat. As a seduction method... strategic remember? lol

message 1637: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments Just got back from my cousin's wedding. Everything went pretty smoothly and we had a great time until the mother of the bride freaked out at the end of the reception. She followed us all back to the hotel then started screaming at the bride in the hotel lobby and it was absolutely awful. We're still dealing with the aftermath this morning.

message 1638: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments OMG why? that's awful. People are so selfish. I have seen more familazilla's than bridezillas....

message 1639: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments I have no idea. But she sent so many nasty emails to the bride over the course of planning the wedding it's unbelievable. How could you upset your daughter on her wedding day?

Unless I wanted Pneumonia - probably NOT a good idea for me...seeing as I'm freezing!!
We've moved into Winter...
Wave Good-bye to the sun, and say hello to wet, freezing cold weather. :(
The Silver Lining here - Fewer Bugs!! :)

message 1641: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Aw, that's rubbish Jax. :( At least when it gets round to the winter solstice up here, it's only a few days before Christmas so we have that to cheer us up.

I don't tend to think of South Africa as having freezing cold weather, but I suppose you guys are pretty far south. Oh well, wrap up warm! *passes hot water bottle to Jax*

message 1642: by Jax (new)

Jax | 831 comments :D, Why Thank you! *Hugs hot water bottle tight!*

I suppose our weather depends on what its compared to.
I'll agree, compared to say, Canadian Winters, Ours is pretty Balmy! ;), However, considering our summers...Winters SUCK!
Going from 25'C and up to 10'C and less (by mid winter we tend to hit the negatives) it ain't fun!!

As for Christmas... Yeah... We've only seen White Christmas'... they're REALLY pretty!!
And darn it! I wanna try sledding! That looks like HUGE amounts of Fun!! :D
I'd say I prefer our beaches - but I avoid the beach round that time due to the multitudes of holiday makers. Far too many people for my antisocial self to handle! LOL

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments There's something a little poignant about abandoned buildings slowly being overtaken by nature.

message 1645: by Jax (new)

Jax | 831 comments WOW! Some of those are gorgeous!

The sad part though is, My first thought; I could totally live there!!
My second... No, No wait, I can't. No WI-FI.
And there my "dream" of "independence" is shattered by my need for electronics.

message 1646: by Jax (new)

Jax | 831 comments :D - Granted - I could see myself perched at the top of a tree (or a turret) trying desperately to get a signal with some makeshift antenna.... LOL

message 1647: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments You're a woman after my own heart, Jax! :D

I imagine myself living a quiet rural life sometimes and then I remember that broadband speeds suck out in the wilderness and I shudder!

message 1648: by D.C. (new)

D.C. (dcmallory) | 152 comments Hell with broadband speeds - I can't be that far away from the pizza shop! When I want it, I want it now!

message 1649: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments A very valid point!

message 1650: by Jax (new)

Jax | 831 comments LOL - I don't mind cooking.

However - I'd suck at hunting.
Good thing I'm married... I can send my dearly beloved out to be the hunter - while I gather... LOL

Though not having bacon readily on hand could become an issue for me.
