It's very happy chaos at home right now.

Missdevora | 2142 comments Why reading a 50 pages uni realted essay is so boring and hard to read while I can read in that time a 300 pages novella and end with a smile on my face???

message 460: by Arushi (new)

Arushi | 3652 comments ITs like a rule of physics? it just is?
I never read my text books cover to cover.. but the moment I did NOT have to read them for a class, they suddenly became so much more interesting, and I read far more than I did when I was actually supposed to.

I guess if you have to do something, it often takes away the fun from it.

message 462: by Missdevora (new)

Missdevora | 2142 comments @Sarah Probably that's why.

@Arushi I also tend to avoid diccionaries of any kind, because if I look up a word...I end up reading not just the meaning/definition/traducction of that word but the whole page, then another and another...
and this also happends as you point out with class related books, but not for class at that moment.

message 463: by Gin (new)

Gin | 323 comments I don't function without coffee!

There's a bakery here that makes a chili chocolate cake and it is wonderful!!! I make lattes at home and add chocolate syrup and a little cayenne pepper. It's really good

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments That sounds delicious, Gin. I want some of that cake. The latte, too.

message 465: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments I'm trying my hand at cake pops. A best friend just went through a break up. Needless to say, she's not pleased. However, there are few things that can't be cured with desserts and good movies.

message 466: by Arushi (last edited Nov 23, 2012 09:14PM) (new)

Arushi | 3652 comments I work in a really small firm.. and today, no one is here, except me. Sigh. They're either out or working from home. I haven't decided if I want to sulk yet.

@Gin - The latte and the cake both sound awesome.. but I really want some of that latte...

@Claire - Agreed. Coffee cake might help too. Two awesome things together.. chocolate and coffee :)

message 467: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments She also likes coffee. So it's caffeine and sugar all the way tomorrow.

If it works, it works, right :)

message 469: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments I made pancakes for breakfast (OK, lunch really, by the time I got up!)

I burnt every one of them. :(

I don't know how many times I've told myself this, but I need to stay away from the computer when I'm cooking, or bad things happen. (This is why I like my slow cooker. I forgot to turn it off once and 'over-cooked' by about 6 hours and I think the dish may even have tasted slightly better than usual at the end of it. This is my kind of cooking!)

Aw damn, that sucks. But I has happened to me several times as well.

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments Oh wow, Lannister. I've done that plenty of times, too.

message 472: by Gin (new)

Gin | 323 comments That sucks Lannister! I've flooded my kitchen playing on the computer before.

Can I say how badly I don't want to go to work tomorrow again. I need a profession that actually has holidays and weekends off. Or better yet...how about no work at all!

message 473: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments Can't say I've ever burnt things because of computer time. Then again, I set timers and work at the kitchen table so I'm always in sight of my food =p

message 474: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments LOL, even being in sight of the cooker doesn't seem to help me! I get so engrossed in what I'm reading I just forget everything else exists until the smoke alarm goes off.

Which reminds me, what's the craziest thing you ever found down the back of your couch? Cos a couple of months back I found my smoke alarm which had gone missing.

Don't ask, it's a long story, and I wasn't even drunk.

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments craziest thing? sex toys . . . don't know when it got there . . . maybe we were drunk cause the husband didn't know either ROFL.

message 477: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments LMAO Zeenat! I hope it was you or hubby who found it, and not a visiting child!! :O

PS Glad you had a good weekend. Will send Mircea round to massage swollen feet!

message 479: by Arushi (new)

Arushi | 3652 comments Sounds like you had a really good time Zeenat.. and now need some pampering. *hands over a wrapped up Curran*

Just be careful while unwrapping that :)

message 480: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments I'm not sure what I would get with Currans. Paws or Claws? Did I do anything to piss him off lately . . . . ::sits there and ponders before opening::

message 481: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments that could definitely be a dangerous present to unwrap

But now it's early afternoon in my part of the world.

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments Morning makes me want to go back to sleep. Unless there is food.

message 490: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments I'm not much of a morning person either, even at the best of times. I'm with you Mello, I'll gladly get up if someone's making a nice breakfast for me. :)

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments Yep. Some good, crispy bacon will get me right out of the bed.

message 494: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments I usually start around 8 or 9, awake a couple of hours before that

message 495: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments I dislike waking up earlier than 9:00. Then again, I usually don't go to sleep until 1:00.

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments I get up at 5:30 EST. Unfun times.
