The Sport Spot - Comment here on what's happening in the world of Aussie sports!
Always hurts losing to the Camry's, but was nice to see Port storming home like they did so many times last year. Just not enough in the end :(Finals definitely off the table now, so hopefully they start working on figuring out how to stop this from happening next year. 2015 needs to be a blip on the radar.
Well at least now we can stop pretending we're going to get anywhere near the finals this year. Need to spend the next four games sorting out a plan B, cos Plan A ain't working.Hopefully get some free games into some younger players as well.

Especially considering the year we've had it's a terrific achievement. Also the Crows not reacting well, gotta pad them memberships
It appears that Australians have become quite popular in American football :) http://www.si.com/extra-mustard/2015/...
Where's our sporty people?? LOL! The NAB cup has been going for a little bit - a shame the Cats were beaten in the last few minutes last night:(

Having said that I have to admit to getting home at 10pm on Friday night and then DH and I sat down to watch the Sydney Carlton match. Didn't see the Geelong match but sounds like they were unlucky to lose it with Freo's super goals.
Yes they were unlucky Dale. I know this is ONLY the NAB cup and it's not as important as the real thing:) But I suppose for the die hard fans it's still footy isn't it;)
http://globalnews.ca/news/2574582/can... so Apparently that happened ...
Being Canadians, we probably apologized afterward :p

Brenda wrote: "As long as it gives you a "footy fix" Dale;)"At least until the real thing comes along.
Thought you would be at the footy Michael yesterday. I was watching it on TV . Thought Port would run over the top in the second half. But St Kilda did well for a while. How do you think Geelong will go this afternoon Brenda? Should be a good match.
Happy with our Sydney guys and especially our debutants.
We're really hoping the Cats will beat Hawthorn Dale...fingers crossed!
Your Swans did very well!

I heard on twitter that Michael's team won. So congrats, Michael. I hope you had fun at the game :)

They did Brenda. Happy Sydney supporters with the team back permanently at the SCG.
Brenda wrote: "What a brilliant game! An unbelievable comeback in the final quarter too! Great win!"Agree. It was good to watch.
Michael wrote: "Great win by the Power boys tonight. Fingers crossed that is the kickstarter they need. Injuries have hurt but there is still plenty of time for Port to get things going. :)"Good win to Port and also to Geelong. Didn't see either game. Was watching a replay of GWS beating Hawthorn. Gotta cheer on the other Sydney team as long as they are not playing us.
It was a huge win to cats, Brenda. Our Sydney Swans just got out of jail today. Thank heavens for Parker.
Hey, so apparently Aussie rules football is a thing in Canada too :) http://www.vancitybuzz.com/2016/05/au...
Dale and I are wishing each other the best of luck - may the best team win! lol
Of course I pick the Cats though Michael :)

Sorry, didn't see these posts last night. Was too busy watching the game. Happy for our Sydney boys and keen to see what happens in the game today. Think it will be GWS but Bulldogs could just as easily do it.
Congratulations to your Swans Dale :) They definitely were the better team on the night. I've said over many years - the break never benefits a team and with it only being the second game in 28 days for the Cats it showed. The Swans sizzled and played brilliantly. The Cats were shell shocked I think.
Good luck with the GF Dale - I think you guys are in with a very big chance :)
Onward and upward!

Have to say I always thought the bye before the finals was the stupidest idea out.
Yep. Be interesting to see if it is the same this arvo. In which case the Bulldogs would win, I guess.

Also Ken nearly breaking up during his quick talk with Richo post-game :( Such a top bloke.
