Peter Gordon I managed to get my hands on an advance copy of this book. It is a groundbreaking novel, in terms of its sweep, its depth and its ambition. Most authors are lucky if they create one or two characters the reader can come to grips with; Swarup has created six fascinating characters and it is easy to immerse yourself in their worlds. Kudos!

Rajan Parmar yes i completely agree with you Peter. Especially the author narrates the story of each character in their voices which makes it the most intersting. You can clearly make out the way different characters think and behave based on their origins. I especially love the character of the american.

Zayd khan its an amazing novel...all 6 characters from different back ground coming to same town with same mission...hats off...superb work by vikas swarup...
i still remember i had math exam next day and i was on the verge of completing it and i jus cudnt stop myself frm finishin it off same night....

Elli I really enjoy Swarup as author! I love his Attitude! There is something highly, shall we say, western about it. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think he'd be limited as a pacifist Ghandi fan. the characters are good, and there is something real about all of them. And I've got to just love a guy who will stand up and say in essence... that you will tell me I'm outdated and just not with todays world, and meanwhile you will put up with the widow burning in some communities....
