I'm very excited...still cant decide if I can afford to go to big day out as well...

Whos performing?"

quite a few but the stand out ones for me are
marylin manson, limb biskit, system of a down, sliptknot, trivium, lamb of god, unwritten law (my great yr 8 band..listened to them for a whole year lol)meshugga

the full lineup is here : http://www.soundwavefestival.com/
with more to be announced

message 4103: by Neko (new)

Neko I didn't know limp biskit was still around..I thought they sorta died out?! :o Guess, I was very wrong on that..lol

But yeah that is a good line up of artists..should be a good one for sure!

Megan | 114 comments Feeling slow - I never realised System of a Down had got back together after their seemingly permanent hiatus, but back for nearly a year already, I wonder what they have planned after festivals.

message 4105: by Neko (new)

Neko Megan, sometimes it can be hard to keep track of what bands are doing these days. Breaking up, getting back together, someone leaving, someone doing a solo album..etc...Can make the mind explode! lol

I'm so happy it's Friday, felt like the week was dragging then suddenly Friday is already here :D! Hoping if I'm not tired after work to get my haircut finally which I think i've put off for about 3 months.

message 4106: by [deleted user] (last edited Oct 13, 2011 04:53PM) (new)

dw worry guys your not out of touch both bands where a surprise this is their comeback tour no one was really expecting it (of course there were rumors)

hence why every one is a little over the top excited!

I now must go and hunt for Mansons new album cause i had no idea he was making one!

:D:D

Then my brother woke me up to give me breakfast in bed, because he felt like it. Which was nice.

message 4118: by Neko (new)

Neko What's a gumball rally, dare I ask?

message 4119: by [deleted user] (new)

its a huge race across america (speed limits and all) thousands enter famous people heaps of awesome cars and you pretty much play hide and seek with the police...trying to go fast when you can...there are docos on it every year its pretty funny

its called the gumball 3000

message 4120: by Neko (new)

Neko Oh...not what I thought it was going to be. I thought it was a race to stuff so many gumballs into your mouth..lol

message 4123: by Neko (new)

Neko Wow to enter it's very expensive....So it's like an illegal car race of some sorts.

I wonder how many ppl get caught by speed cameras when this is on? lol

The first three terms at school are anywhere between 10-12 weeks. This term is 8, which is good. Even better, for year tens, its 6!
Well, 6 weeks of school, one for exams, and the next week off :)
Anyway, today wasnt too bad at all. I didnt even complain when I got up in the morning. Im back in school-mode no problems.
However, I do have an issue with double science tomorrow :/

message 4135: by [deleted user] (new)

I wish i still had school hoildays!

@laura you should rent out on of the docos on the Gumball 3000 it is hilarious people from all over the world go in it..its not illegal its fully organised and every thing (they cant be responsible for what their competitors do lol) so expensive because all the accommodation and stuff is included.

but some of the people in the doco are hilarous, they drive really rare fast cars so the police pull them over all the time. lol so funny

message 4136: by Adhityani (new)

Adhityani (dhitri) Hi everyone!!!

I am back! Well, for those who were wondering, I had no particular reason for being MIA for soooo long other than full time study, bub and winter (which meant sick bub most of the time!). Now I am back, fully aware that GR can spawn into an addiction and an additional distraction to uni work, but I realised that I need to get back to reading books that are NOT uni related for stress relief.

At the same time I have been trying to get in shape for Summer (read: to fit back into those pre preg jeans) and soooo I caugh the running bug! So many beautiful places to run outdoors here in Canberra, round the Lake Burley Griffin is obviously my favorite, I try to do 5ks every other day.

Soooo, I have an AMBITIOUS goal to run a half next April at the Running Festival here in Canberra, which is crazy considering that I only started running a couple months ago, from feeling like I was going to die after 1k to 15k a week now. I am following a training to up my fitness base, the old easy runs and once a week interval run. Just wondering who else is a runner here and if there are tips you'd like to share? I am also very mindful of my running form, might try to see a physio and podiatrist one of these days to get my form and feet analysed.

The only thing, now that I almost finished Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen is that I want to try barefoot running! Not entirely barefoot but with those geeky foot gloves the Vibram Five Fingers! I just ordered a pair in flashy pink! I will look like a space monster in them but what the heck, as long as they can correct my running form and make running less injury prone for me, then I am game!

message 4137: by Neko (new)

Neko Welcome back D :) Seems like you have kept yourself very busy. How is uni going?

Good luck with next years run but you'll prolly be about to do it well considering how you've now started to train and all of tha..Keep up the good work. :D

Not a runner here..Infact it causes my hips/knees to much pain that I can't. Bad feet for me :/

Those Vibram shoes sound interesting..Sound like ninja shoes actually..hehehe

Emily E (emily_e1) | 347 comments So, the chat about anything thread...

How about the joys of public transport, especially when someone jumps in front of a train (presumption - they may have absently wandered in front of the train without looking, listening or being awake)during hometime peak hour.

Only a couple of thousand people wanting to go home at the end of a working day who have to meander about trying to figure out how. Annoying, yes. Painful (with a sprained ankle at least), yes. But, at the end of it all, I'm not the person under the train and even better, I'm not the one cleaning them up! Horrid.

Thanks Brenda, yes it was in Melbourne. Took me an extra hour and a half to get home (on top of the usual hour & a quarter of normal travel time). And I made my ankle worse which does not bode well for weekend activity.

But I did get home, I am in one piece and I get to live and see another day. So not too bad. And thank you I slept like a log :)

Jeanette Hornby (goodreadscomuser_jeanettehornby) | 107 comments I read out my current chapter at writer's group and made a lady cry. It's good to get a reaction of any kind.

message 4150: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 3071 comments Thats good Jeanette :)
I agree, reactions of any kind are good. I remember last year, early year 9, we had to write a story about "a mess" for the NAPLAN tests. Mine was good and everything, I believe I was scored in the top 1% of the state, and got a fancy certificate and everything, buuuuut I also got sent to the school psychologists office because my story was so morbid and disturbing there had to be something wrong with me. Not in those exact words, but the lady heavily implied it.
Oh well, thats a reaction, and thats what I was trying to achieve, I guess xD
