@Marianne I hear you. I adhere to the preservation of mind, body and soul but not enough that I feel I want a fitbit. I might find out that I'm actually lazy!

Then they asked how many would allow their health fund to access their data if it meant they got a discount on their fees. More than half said they'd be Ok with that. It's an interesting thought that we're putting all this data about ourselves on the web.
It's interesting. I have a fitbit, not one of the heart rate ones, but one that measures steps, stairs, calories etc.It provided me with my yearly statistics recently, and compared them to the average Australian (and world) activity levels of those I assume who are also wearing fitbits.
I recommend going on holiday if you want to bump your walking stats up!
And speaking of holidays, here are a few snaps if anyone would like to take a look :)http://s751.photobucket.com/user/Cycl...

Interestingly it's a cash economy - everything runs on cash and not EFTPOS or credit. You need to have yen with you at all times. Major hotels take credit cards, but your average little shop requires cash.

I think that one is gorgeous. It would look amazing as a big print - very atmospheric!

It's my 'Narnia' picture :) Although I do have one with a lamppost, it's just not quite as nice as that one.

beautiful!
Lovely pics Leonie I especially liked the one with the lights at night and the snow ones. Probably as close as I will ever come to Japan so thanks for the insights.

Some great shots there Leonie - the slides worked fine
Leonie wrote: "Glad you've enjoyed them, everyone. Japan is just beautiful. We hope to go back one day."I went to a conference in Kyoto many years ago and was lucky enough to have a few days extra leave to sightsee afterwards. It's a lovely city with all the shrines and temples, wooden houses and little restaurants. It was summer and we caught one of the religious festivals which was spectacular. I would love to go back sometime and see more of the country.

We only had three nights in Kyoto, and we could have spent much longer there. It was fascinating.

I'd be back there in a moment if I didn't have to work!
So it has taken me a shockingly long time to realize that the actor playing Will Traynor in "Me Before You" was Finnick Odair in the Hunger games.
This has been my epiphany of the night, lol.

It always takes me a while to figure out where I've seen an actor before. It drives me mad sometimes :)
Ooh yes, me too, I sit there saying to DH "she was in something else" and it might take five minutes, but it might take 3 hours....eventually, though, one of us will say "it was so and so in such and such"

I love IMDb for that, because I do it all the time a well! So now I look up the movie/series I'm watching on IMDb, look at the cast and find the actor/actress I'm trying to place, look up their filmography and then find which of them are ones I've seen. Sometimes I'm surprised because there are movies that I've seen but I didn't even realise that the particular actor/actress was in!

Nowadays, I have only that cat and dog to ask and they're hopeless, but then again, even my DH was pretty useless about who was in what before and as well as.Actually, my Dad was the best with this, even with modern movies and tv, that man had a memory like an iron fist.
My DH and I are always googling actors while watching tv as we can never remember what we saw them in. I wish we could do it for people you run into in the street or shopping centre who you know you know and might even have had conversations with but can't remember their name. Usually when I work out where I know them from (kid's friend's parent, a local shop, soccer club) I can work out who they are but seeing them out of context always throws me!
Yes, you need a hidden earplug with someone to say, that's so & so's sister, or the man from the fruit shop, or whatever. So you just smile and chat and hope something in the conversation will give you a clue. On my walks I have people ask me how DH is and to give him their regards, and I walk away thinking, yes, I would if I only knew who you were.

You guys are so funny. A worse problem happens when you need to introduce said person to someone - and you can't remember their name, lol:)
B the BookAddict wrote: "You guys are so funny. I stand there smiling politely and when the conversation is over I asked why he didn't introduce me. He had forgotten the persons name so didn't want to introduce us as the other person would know. So now after a minute or so I'll join in saying isn't he rude not introducing me - I am Sally...you are....? They'll supply the name and then hubby knows who it is too!! He does the same when I bump into someone :)
If I'm by myself then I'm doomed and just hope the name, and where I know them from, comes to me :)

Oh yeah, that's a good strategy, will have to remember that!
I went to see Carol today, the film adapted from the book The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith which I read some years ago.I must say I was a tad disappointed as it differed greatly from the original story. The acting was great, no problems there but it lacked a lot of the substance that the book told and left it kind of wanting imo. I am glad I saw it, but would definitely recommend the book first.
Julie - I think i will see movie first then read the book so i possibly won't be as disappointed by the movie itself.-
Oh tomorrow i work...but interestingly mostly without kids...Will be a breezy day i think...but who knows!
