B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) @Melissa Baby steps, Mel, just baby steps. Just don't let them drug you up with Xanax or Valium, apparently they are hideously addictive and really hard to detox from.

Sally906 | 89 comments Sooo hot still - missed a storm last night, it disintegrated before it got to Darwin :(

Hubby and I (and it would appear most of the rest of Darwin) just can't find the energy to do anything. Even little Miss Lily our 2 year old granddaughter just wanted to watch her princess show and lie on the tiles while she watched it.

Everyone is hanging out for the monsoons to arrive and break the build up - but they're still talking mid January!!! Trouble is when the monsoonal trough arrives so does the chance of Cyclones - which are not welcome either.

***sigh*** this time of the year it's lose/lose :)

Hope none of our members are being affected by the huge bushfire near the Barossa - if you are stay safe please

We also went road-tripping up north (11 hour drive) which was a major accomplishment in my current state.

They have given me Ativan (which is similar to Xanax) but that is to keep in my purse for severe cases. I don't like using it but sometimes it is necessary.

Zoey (rozannen) | 1045 comments and in Tassie we have snow?!?!?!?!?!

message 24007: by B the BookAddict (new)

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) Yes, I understand that. You know, a girl who worked as part of my team became a victim to crippling anxiety and spent months in a mental health clinic. (Which did her more harm than good in my opinion.) It was so awful to see this lovely shiny girl lose her confidence and her independence. Her marriage broke up due to the anxiety problem. But she did finally get back on her feet after finding the 'right' therapist for her, although it took about five years. That seems to be the answer - get the right therapist, the right treatment and the right drugs for you, everybody is different.

It is a process; I am trying to do the natural methods in conjunction with my medication. To put it simply .. anxiety just sucks. But I am learning to live with it.

Got some John Marsden books for $2 and Stephen Fry biography was $3. I avoid the shops to be honest, but I didn't realise they did clearance at this sort of cost..

That would work. It would definitely transfer to the big screen. There are some really gory moments and lots of space scenes that would require good special effects.

Wow, I thought it'd be much dearer than that! I can't believe the price differences on some books - I was looking for The Big Time: Kaboom Kid #5 and Home and Away: Kaboom Kid #6 for my grandson for Christmas yesterday - $15 in QBD and $10 in Big W!!!

We've got heat and winds and then a blackout so no air con. Electric co.was expecting it to be 3 hours off. But in the end only an hour and a half.
Apparently a tree came down across wires or something in the winds. I believe it. At times sounded like our roof was going to blow off.

My weather app on my phone is showing 40 in Newcastle (as well as where we live) 38 in Sydney, 17 in Adelaide, 28 in Brisbane, 34 in Darwin, 17 in Melbourne, 12 in Hobart!!! How crazy is that! We are the hottest in the country (of the places I have on my phone!) I'm sure there are hotter;)

Not a problem for me - don't need sound so my computer at work and my iPad at home both have the sound turned off. If I am watching a video and I need the sound I turn it for that then turn it off again.
