Hubby and I (and it would appear most of the rest of Darwin) just can't find the energy to do anything. Even little Miss Lily our 2 year old granddaughter just wanted to watch her princess show and lie on the tiles while she watched it.
Everyone is hanging out for the monsoons to arrive and break the build up - but they're still talking mid January!!! Trouble is when the monsoonal trough arrives so does the chance of Cyclones - which are not welcome either.
***sigh*** this time of the year it's lose/lose :)
Hope none of our members are being affected by the huge bushfire near the Barossa - if you are stay safe please
We also went road-tripping up north (11 hour drive) which was a major accomplishment in my current state.

They have given me Ativan (which is similar to Xanax) but that is to keep in my purse for severe cases. I don't like using it but sometimes it is necessary.

It is a process; I am trying to do the natural methods in conjunction with my medication. To put it simply .. anxiety just sucks. But I am learning to live with it.

Cute little kid in our news today; hiccuping his way through the Australian Anthem http://www.cbc.ca/news/trending/hiccu.... Oddly, before I saw this story I had never actually heard the Australian Anthem

Lol, he was big news here all week as a result Melissa, he was interviewed (with his mother) on one of the evening current affair shows and was just gorgeous. Totally unfazed by it all and he sang it right through again :D

Cute kid, I do love the feel good stories. Kids, they can be braver than adults. I would be shrinking into the ground.

Thank you Brenda :)
Thank you Brenda :)

Aye Brenda - it's very hot here in Sydney too. The crickets were singing frantically this morning!!

Thanks Bette :)

LOL - I heard that forecast on the news - typical Australia - deadly bushfires in one part of the country and cold enough for snow in another part!!! We have the droughts, the heat - any floods anywhere to complete the picture?

Welcome back Melissa,
That would work. It would definitely transfer to the big screen. There are some really gory moments and lots of space scenes that would require good special effects.

Oh no, that is so cruel! They shouldn't force the kids to swim in those conditions - in fact it should be cancelled until the weather warms!!!

Wow, I thought it'd be much dearer than that! I can't believe the price differences on some books - I was looking for The Big Time: Kaboom Kid #5 and Home and Away: Kaboom Kid #6 for my grandson for Christmas yesterday - $15 in QBD and $10 in Big W!!!

Annoying! I always have the sound turned off on my computer unless there is something I particularly want to listen to.

We've got heat and winds and then a blackout so no air con. Electric co.was expecting it to be 3 hours off. But in the end only an hour and a half.
Apparently a tree came down across wires or something in the winds. I believe it. At times sounded like our roof was going to blow off.
Oh dear - hope you guys are alright down there Dale! That's my worst fear - no air con!! (I know, third world concerns;P)

No, it's all fine now and cool. We do become very dependent on these things.
We sure do!!! When I finally had airconditioning put in my car (years ago) I wondered how I'd ever managed without it! And nowadays, I couldn't think of anything worse...I drive with the air con on in the car all year round:)
My weather app on my phone is showing 40 in Newcastle (as well as where we live) 38 in Sydney, 17 in Adelaide, 28 in Brisbane, 34 in Darwin, 17 in Melbourne, 12 in Hobart!!! How crazy is that! We are the hottest in the country (of the places I have on my phone!) I'm sure there are hotter;)

Not a problem for me - don't need sound so my computer at work and my iPad at home both have the sound turned off. If I am watching a video and I need the sound I turn it for that then turn it off again.
I know - I'm strange :)

I usually have my sound off but it happened to be on this morning and I nearly died of fright when someone started singing "Payless, Payless" at me!
