@Melanie- O_o; Surely your dog could handle the cold. And it's not that (re:Michael) cold unless you moved to Liawenee which is no-mans land pretty much..lol Launy is colder than Hobart when the nights are concerned.
But you learn to adapt I guess...I've felt colder living in Melb than here..haha

Did you Gail? What part? We visit quite often, have stayed at Fingal Bay a number of times, and Salamander Bay a couple of times, and have a voucher to go back two more times...Love the area! :)

It was Karuah, not so exciting, but nice. Out house was by a lovely creek for swimming in summer. The water was lovely and clear when I was a kid, by the time we left, it had gotten murky. We used to spend a lot of time around Lemon Tree Passage, Fingal bay and Anna Bay.

I think the workers might be here for the water meters. Oh well, as long as they don't cause any issues I'm fine.
I also LOVE the Dare or Oak Iced coffee/espresso! Oh sooo delicious! We have it fairly regularly...had 2 large glasses of it today, plus a mocha! Mmmmm! :)

Haven't you Laura?? I don't think you'd have Oak in Tassy as it's a local brand, and I'm not sure about Dare either, but you would probably have 2L iced coffee or espresso in 'a supermarket near you' wouldn't you? Next time you are at the supermarket, go to the milk section, and where you find chocolate/strawberry milk, the iced coffee/espresso should be there too! Let me know when you try it..LOL

You might have a different brand in Adelaide...I think I bought Moo or something similar while we were there in February. :)

While you are all sipping on your hot chocolate have a read of my favorite Henry Kendall poem.
Bellbirds
By channels of coolness the echoes are calling,
And down the dim gorges I hear the creek falling:
It lives in the mountain where moss and the sedges
Touch with their beauty the banks and the ledges.
Through breaks of the cedar and sycamore bowers
Struggles the light that is love to the flowers;
And, softer than slumber, and sweeter than singing,
The notes of the bell-birds are running and ringing.
The silver-voiced bell birds, the darlings of daytime!
They sing in September their songs of the May-time;
When shadows wax strong, and the thunder bolts hurtle,
They hide with their fear in the leaves of the myrtle;
When rain and the sunbeams shine mingled together,
They start up like fairies that follow fair weather;
And straightway the hues of their feathers unfolden
Are the green and the purple, the blue and the golden.
October, the maiden of bright yellow tresses,
Loiters for love in these cool wildernesses;
Loiters, knee-deep, in the grasses, to listen,
Where dripping rocks gleam and the leafy pools glisten:
Then is the time when the water-moons splendid
Break with their gold, and are scattered or blended
Over the creeks, till the woodlands have warning
Of songs of the bell-bird and wings of the Morning.
Welcome as waters unkissed by the summers
Are the voices of bell-birds to the thirsty far-comers.
When fiery December sets foot in the forest,
And the need of the wayfarer presses the sorest,
Pent in the ridges for ever and ever
The bell-birds direct him to spring and to river,
With ring and with ripple, like runnels who torrents
Are toned by the pebbles and the leaves in the currents.
Often I sit, looking back to a childhood,
Mixt with the sights and the sounds of the wildwood,
Longing for power and the sweetness to fashion,
Lyrics with beats like the heart-beats of Passion; -
Songs interwoven of lights and of laughters
Borrowed from bell-birds in far forest-rafters;
So I might keep in the city and alleys
The beauty and strength of the deep mountain valleys:
Charming to slumber the pain of my losses
With glimpses of creeks and a vision of mosses.

geez..if you drank that all in a day your heart will be pumping toooo fast...I did that with 2L..Was a stupid idea and will never do it again :s
cant say about drinking to much coffee but 5 Vs in a couple wasnt good so i can imagine what 2L of coffee would be like!

What about those massive Rockstar Energy Drinks? They are massive. I find it funny they say on the normal cans don't consume more than 2 a day (sometimes they say 1 a day)....I wonder what those massive cans say? Don't consume more than a mouthfull a day? lol
What scares me about those drinks is that they are on the supermarket shelves for kids to buy!!! My daughter had a bad reaction to too much red bull a few years ago, with a racing heart, nausea etc. and the pharmacist said if she'd been older it could have resulted in a heart attack! She was the designated driver, and was trying to stay awake! They are terrible (IMO) and should be unavailable so easily to kids. *off soap box now*

I used to drink them before my work at night..I found they helped me because I was on my feet for the night but in general they usually aren't a good thing to drink.
I've a thing where I gotta try the new ones just to see. But I'm like that with all sorts of drinks..haha.
I hate the fact that parents were giving them to there really young children while playing sports!! What on earth? It's so wrong to do that.
same reason i was drinking them i dont like v's and red bull anymore tho ekky!
at our school i remember you had to be 16 plus to buy them on sports days but they really shouldnt be ready available to kids. and vodka red bulls are the worst i had one once just once had me shaking with extra energy all night even in my sleep horrible experience
I know...the shots/energy drinks are soooo dangerous! Was your brother ok? I can't believe it's all so readily available! :(

They used to have an energy bar...It was chocolate bar sorta like a Mars bar...They were great for energy..haha.
In the US they have a drink called Loko which was energy drink/liquor mix...They got banned/modified because so many people were reacting badly to them.
Hope your brother was okay Carmel!

Some scary stories in the last few posts. Ive heard similar sort of things as well. You're right, its incredibly easy for teenagers to buy that sort of stuff when it shouldn't be. I definitely wont be buying any in the future now.

Angus & Robertson suddenly closed their doors at Stockland shoping centre in cairns oweing me a small amount of money, guess that's gone down the gurgler as being the small fish I am I'll never see it.
Carmel & Brenda, your books are on their way. (-:
