A fine morning here on the Illawarra Coast.
I just ordered the 2nd volume of Outlander on eBay and I wondered if you ever got the first one? And if you're getting this one?

Born in 60s, I remember cloth nappies. My little sister had them on, she sucked in her tummy everytime I was pinning them, lol. I think they're better for the environment but hot in summer for the babies. And how many kids got bandy legs from all that cloth between them? lol:)
Early on, Mum had a cloths washer with the wringer on top, now that's dating us. My eldest sister's sleeve got caught in it and she still has a stretchy looking scar where her arm was up against the wringer.

Born in the 50s, and I put cloth nappies on my sister born in '61. And she never lets me forget I managed to pin her skin one time when I was home alone with her while the family was at church. I was all of seven years old, what was my mother thinking of, letting me do that? Leaving a baby with a seven year-old?
Had one of those washers too, but the wringer was a hand-crank model.

Air conditioning!!!! There is no relief for months - at least when the heatwaves hit the southern states - they go for days - maybe a week - and the temperature drops off at night (they are forcasting for Perth on Saturday to be 37 during the day and down to 22 at night - our night time temps are in the very high 20s - 29 last night.
When we retire in the next couple of years we will move down south - we will not be able to afford the power costs having air conditioning on 24/7

I don't know how you stand it Sally. But then I hate the heat. Maybe you should move down our way when you get the choice to move. Our nights are mostly good.

Good to hear from you Kristen. Okay here especially now it is not raining and able to get out and walk . How are you keeping?

And it looks like any "genre" is the same - I was also looking at The Tea Chest, so I clicked on "Tea" in the "Food and Drink" category and there's all these lovely looking books somehow related to tea!!
I think it must depend on how people have shelved books, though, so there's probably going to be some mistakes - I looked at "British Literature" when I was looking at a British book and saw The Lake House there, which I wouldn't have thought you could call British since it's written by Kate Morton who was born in Australia and still seems to live here, according to her GR profile...
But oh dear, I could go crazy with this function!

I know it's there Kathryn, always tempting me just at the edge of my vision but I do my best to ignore it! If I looked (I did once) my tbr would explode and I can't read any faster! Maybe one day when I'm bored I'll risk sneaking a peak again :)

Beautiful pics Marianne, mother nature sure does work some magic!

My hubby flew back to Sydney from Melbourne yesterday. They circled over Sydney before landing and he said the purple from the jacarandas was just amazing!

Glad I'm not the only one who never realised this was there!

Great photos, Marianne. I'm loving the jacarandas around Brisbane as well.

@sally - sounds like my idea of hell. Having said that, have always wanted to go to the Territory and see Kakadu. One day! "
Nah, Rita. Kakadu can come to us, I reckon, lol:)

Marianne, I said stop! lol:) We have the jacarandas but I can't buy one down the coast here:( But we sure don't get those unbelievable Flame Trees. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8KgP...
You wouldn't be a true 80s Australian if you didn't know this song.

Lovely photos. In Nowra there are a couple of Jacarandas and Illawarra flame trees together. The colours look stunning side by side.

The intense violets of the jacarandas, and the vivid reds of the poincianas, contrasting against black storm clouds, are some of my enduring memories from our many years in the Pilbara.

Yes, they are such vivid and contrasting colours! Who would have thought that the two together could make such a breath taking statement? Especially when set against the background you describe Leonie, it makes them stand out like fluorescent beacons.
Only mother nature could pull that off!!

Come up in June/July and you can't go wrong - warm days and cool nights - no humidity. God's own country :)

All gorgeous!

Had a really awesome thing happened at work today...It just made me grin widely and know/feel I'm doing right by this kid. There is a level of trust there already which just screams awesomeness..haha
Ohhhh and that Illawarra Flame Trees is so sweet..I want one..ehehe
That's great Laura! It's so good to have a connection like that:)
I have been wondering about the Windows 10 - I haven't done it yet...I'll be interested to hear how you go over the next little while..

Still if you never upgrade to 8 then you'll not notice much of a change except everything these days are aps and there is an ap store...IE is now called Edge..lmao!!

I'm another Windows 7 devotee:)

I'm another Windows 7 devotee:) What's your D drive? I'm sure I know it but just can't remember atm.
I changed to Windows 10 on my lap top. It's okay so far, just a few different ways of doing things. However my brother lost his entire email history when he changed over so bad things do happen !

I had so much trouble deleting Windows 8 from my laptop and putting on Windows 7, I'm gonna stay where I am.

Yeah, these things do occur...It's why people need to do backups of everything when making a switch no matter if things work for someone else.
For me I don't store much on the actual C drive (Where my Windows is installed) so don't have as much of a chance of losing things...But I have in the past lost emails (even when I backed up..not sure what happened there), lost all my favorties that I use for websites. It's a real pest.
Sometimes internet providers actually store the emails on their server side as well..So, while you may of deleted things from your inbox it can still be online..That used to be something netspace did..Was a curse and a blessing..lol

I'm a Mac user but know how you feel. My mac OS is years out of date (OS10.7.5 when the rest of the world is several versions ahead). I keep my work desktop and my own laptop on the same versions but every time I upgrade I have to upgrade a lot of my software too and there are always other problems with connecting to the server and the printer that usually require calling in the IT guy. I know the time has come to upgrade again but I'm going to put it off to the new year!

Lol...mine keeps sending those messages too Molly, at first they worried me and I would ask DH if he thought I should take the plunge as he already had. His went fairly smoothly but he did have issues with Outlook Mail and had to call a tech guy online who worked from behind and got it sorted fairly quick. He's happy with it now and says there is not a lot of difference.
Meanwhile I am not intimidated by those messages anymore and still ignoring them.
I am led to believe though, that if you don't do the download within a certain timeframe it will no longer be free and you will have to pay for it when you do it later. Not sure about that.
