Safe trip Marianne:)"
Depends, Phrynne. Did you feel a year younger? Somehow I think not.....

Am just winding down after wrapping up the Scone Literary Long Weekend. It was great. Graeme Simsion, Anne Buist, Samantha Turnbull, Kaz Delaney, Phillip Adams, Patrice Newell and more. A Soiree, workshops and for the first time we ran some concurrent sessions!
Have many Goodreads emails to catch up on.

Thanks Leonie. I have never watched it before so I just turned it on and aren't those kittens just too sweet! It's nearly two years since my cat died and I think I am ready for another one :)

So glad it went well once again Leonie! I bet it feels great to just sit and relax now though;)

It's fascinating, isn't it?

Oh yes! My brain is fried :)

I saw your photos on FB Elaine and was blown away! I could recognise every photo as a place I'd been, walked or shopped. What I can't understand is that alarms weren't shrieking and police weren't swarming! Had you arrived for your shift when it happened?

Saw that on TV this morning. It looked totally unbelievable!

Our cat was sitting there watching the TV intently although he made sure he kept a good distance.

I'm glad you weren't there at the time Elaine. Terrifying for anyone nearby. I hope they get the perpetrators!

Sounds like it's definitely time for a new furball. We have always had cats. Our present one, 3 years old, Is a little terror. He pretends to snuggle up then bites you on the leg. I won't go near him.

Oh Elaine - that's awful!! Great to hear that nobody was hurt, although I guess some of the staff may be rather traumatised by it. Hope the police can find the people responsible and that they learn the lesson that this isn't acceptable from it. Although, as you say, when drugs are involved...I don't think they're thinking clearly - not that that is an excuse.

Thanks Kathryn and yes it's awful to think that it's happened so close to home and in my work place. We really have felt safe here where we are and didn't really think this type of thing happens in our little community but it just goes to show that this crime spree and one that more than likely is fuelled by drugs can take place anywhere.

And now the dog equivalent is on. Our shepherd thinks it's fascinating. Her really enjoyed the kittens in the cat one.
Did you like the bit where the lady was pretending to cry and all the dogs tried to comfort her? Loved it:)

That was hilarious! The staffy was ridiculously cute.

Awful to hear about, worse to experience no doubt. Just glad no-one was hurt.

I love black friday shopping (online not in person; in person it is an anxious person's worst nightmare).
Alas, our loonie is doing poorly also."
Melissa, CBT, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, is a fantastic way to help combat and overcome Anxiety; often prescribed drugs like Diazepam and Zanax can lead to severe dependence, a problem in itself.
It is Mental Help Week in AU from 4th Oct to 10th Oct. Lots of events and guidelines for people suffering mental health and their families. beyondblue.com is a great online mental health community; https://www.beyondblue.org.au/?&u....
Anxiety is often hand in hand with stress, and can lead to Agoraphobia and also severe Depression.

Thanks, Jools. Now in Dubai waiting to board. Premium Economy is not good for sleeping!
Now experiencing a very short Tuesday, about 8 hours worth, I think, before we hit Wednesday somewhere over the Indian Ocean.
Plan is to try to stay awake when we get home, LOL
Good luck with that Marianne!! Do you stay in the airport in Dubai or look around a bit? Enjoy (!) the rest of your journey!!
By the way Marianne...no idea what temperature it is where you are but it's 36 here - 35 in Sydney...and the bushfires have started :(

We understand Suzanne. The kids come first. They grow up so quickly you will have all the time in the world then. :)

I wouldn't survive without air con Mikana! Plus the summers are getting hotter - last year was horrendous and this year will be worse:(

I'm with you Brenda. Love the air con.
I was just thinking that 2 years ago the dreadful bushfires that were here and in the Blue Mountains would start in a week!

Is it cold in Melbourne now Vivian?

We don't watch the cat one (although we like cats - we just busy doing something else) but we do watch the dog one - had to chuckle at those labs all grabbing the chicken and failing their test :)

Thanks Veronica, I feel like I bolted, but I get too sidetracked and could stay all day here.. lol

It's a beautiful day here, but quite cool.
I am packing, packing, packing.....one case done 15kg. Another, with all my books, almost 20kg. Still two more cases to pack plus the carry-on bags. Plenty of room and weight, could have bought more books!!!
When I get home, I will stack them up and take a piccy to put on the recently purchased thread. Plus there's a pile that have come in the mail in my absence, LOL.
