Funny Brenda, because authors are often told by some experts in the industry that they should not respond to review even if it is a good one. But I would have thought to respond is a lovely thing to do and have appreciated when authors have commented and liked my reviews and have thanked reviewers who liked my books.. And when we see the response from reviewers like yourself who get a kick out of an author's response it is lovely to see. It makes everyone feel good to see that joy,

I think it is good when authors respond to positive reviews. It makes the reviewer feel good and encourages them to continue reviewing. Good reviews are after all free advertising for the author's book!

I agree - it's bad policy to respond/react to a negative review, but yes us reviewers love an author's personal "thank you"...it's definitely special!

Yes we do. Even a 'like' by an author makes my day - but a few words are so special :)

I agree - a like is fantastic as it means they've taken the time to read it. When the words are sent as well....wow!

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) Monday morning 7am and I've been up since about 5am. I've been feeling very bleary-eyed since I've been home from my holiday. We were on the go 16 hours a day in Melbourne and I've come home fairly exhausted. Home to find that the house-sitter did not know what a doormat was for so I've had lots of cleaning to get done. My pets were happy see me home, Mo leaped up and nearly cracked my front teeth out, ouch! Poppet is still sulking that I left her!

Sounds like you need a holiday to get over the holiday Bette! Sounds exhausting! At least you can relax a bit now you're home :)

I know what you mean! Have just returned from visiting our daughter in Wagga. Am being constantly stalked by the cat.

message 20965: by B the BookAddict (new)

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) I do feel exhausted, lol. I've slept 9 hours a night since I've been home which is unheard of for me. My Poppet is giving me the cold stares and otherwise ignoring me:) Today is looking very much like a couch day for me but I'll feel guilty because I should be pruning my roses:(

I'm normally in the shower by now but am still in pj's and here on GR.

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) That's what moving to the coast has done to me; after a week in the city, I'm exhausted. My sister is back at work and she says she's tired too.

A holiday to get over the holiday may well be in order, Brenda.

That's an amazingly appreciative review. Also the kind of book I'd love to read but will wait and hope for a price reduction some time.

message 20972: by Tui (new)

Tui Allen (tuibird) | 143 comments I wonder how many of us added the book to the TBR due to that review (I did)."
I think it will go on my wish list so Ammie will let me know if it goes on special.

My cat also sulks when we leave her even for few hours. She ignores us for certain period after we return home and then she finally forgives us and loves us to bits.

Our Hunter )AKA BBB - Bad Beagle Boy) sulks tooo. We put him in kennels when we go away - and he really loves them there - but when we come back he shadows me for days and when I settle he lies facing me and gives me those reproachful looks that only a dog can give!!!
