Happy Saturday everyone!

Finally a drop in temperature - is a 'chilly' 20.3 this morning. With a bit of a breeze that makes it seem less.

I have even put a pair of socks on this morning!

The beagle wanted out and by the time I had let him out I was awake - so first load of washing on - tea made and I am enjoying the peace and quiet catching up on my goodread groups listening to the birds.

I had to get up for the dog too so I took him for a walk. The rain has stopped at last here but it was very chilly 8 degrees.

Good morning everyone. It was FREEZING when I took my dog for her walk at 6:45 this morning. I do wish she'd sleep in on the cold mornings.

Good idea Brenda. Although I've never listened to an audio and I've never really wanted too. It's great for those who enjoy them but I guess I just like having a book in my hand :)

Brenda,(and Phrynne)thanks so much for showing interest. The next one, is not too far away now, I hope. Very close to being sent off for the first literary assessment. I've applied for a free assessment through the NZSA. If I win one, it will save me $700. Assessments are not cheap but vital IMO. (Ripple went through three! But that was my first novel so this time may not need so much) Once the story is assessed, I will know how much more re-working is required to make it publishable.

Parts of the story have had many drafts. Other parts are very newly written, so its still a bit of a hotchpotch right now, I think. It grew slowly from one short story that sent out many tendrils. It is set in our own time, (unlike Ripple) and on the premise that dolphins have been trying to contact humanity for hundreds of years. It has several human characters, one of whom suffers from depression, so that explains my current interest in researching that topic.

I also may publish a short story first, about the Japanese dolphin drives. I intend to either make the short story permanently free, or I may decide to include it as an extra with the novel. Still thinking about that one.
